Rare Deeliteful Posted April 13, 2017 #26 Share Posted April 13, 2017 I haven't cruised with P&O for about 10 years so will post my positives after my cruise early next month on Azura. The one positive I did love was the full wheel of Stilton brought out after dinner and the large portion spooned onto my plate, together with a nice of glass of port. However it was the Britishness overall that I didn't like!
kentchris Posted April 13, 2017 #27 Share Posted April 13, 2017 Only the fact they sail from Southampton. They could take lessons from Royal Carib about embarkation arrangements. Rather than irrelevantly comparing P&O with Royal Caribbean you could have said how much you enjoy the custard, you mentioned that today in another thread. However it was the Britishness overall that I didn't like! Oddly I'm not a lover of Stilton at home but I really like the port soaked one that they have on some formal nights. I forgot a few things earlier: - the house wine is very quaffable and reasonably priced - Kir Royale before dinner goes down nicely with free nibbles -Afternoon tea is lovely -Generally good at dealing with allergies -Modern TVs you can put a memory stick in -Inch of gold sale gives us endless fun with tat jokes ;) Sent from my iPhone using Forums

NSWP Posted April 14, 2017 #30 Share Posted April 14, 2017 1. Love the friendly staff, most of all the Indian waiters/cabin stewards. 2 .Love the fact we can bring on board some wine for balcony/cabin consumption. 3. Love the breakfast bacon, not 'nuked' like on the American ships. 4. Love the cheese board that comes around in the MDR 5. Love the fact that P&O UK looks after us Coeliacs - gluten intolerant, with diet chefs and a good range of GF foods around the ship. :D:halo::)

Florry Posted April 14, 2017 Author #32 Share Posted April 14, 2017 It's not just the logistics of sailing from Southampton, it's that lovely feeling you get in those first 30 minutes as you sail down the familiar route along the coast. When I'm looking forward to a cruise I often think of that and the glass of bubbly in my hand. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

parasol partners Posted April 17, 2017 #45 Share Posted April 17, 2017 We are sailing for the first time with P&O in July and find it reassuring to see so many positives.
