suzyluvs2cruise Posted May 12, 2017 #26 Share Posted May 12, 2017 You know, I'm not an al fresco kind guy. The low tables work well with just sitting back and enjoying a drink. BTW, are those the reclining chairs? Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Yes.....the chairs recline.

Cuizer2 Posted May 13, 2017 #30 Share Posted May 13, 2017 That is the only thing I can think of that would explain the inconsistent service ... Very inconsistent because like I said, other orders were perfect and the server was friendly. Inconsistent is Royal consistently inconsistent Caribbean's middle name. Rare Lionesss Posted May 13, 2017 #31 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Crown Loft suites on the Oasis and Allure CL1 and CL2 have a bench like table that can be used for meals. Our dinner one sailing came with table cloth salt and pepper bottles, butter dish and hot entres. And of course hot food. It was a nice relaxing touch. Safe travels. travelplus Posted May 13, 2017 #34 Share Posted May 13, 2017 A compromise to this would be to have late night offerings in the Windjammer and Park Cafe etc. Or just order one of everything to make the $7.95 worth it:D

Loucat Posted May 16, 2017 #36 Share Posted May 16, 2017 We were in a Grand Suite in April on Rahapsody. The menus etc and all documentation said there was a $7.95 room service charge. We were never told anything else so never ordered room service:( This also was not mentioned in the Suite News to passengers written by the Concierge. We are not big fans of room service but will check if we have a future GS sailing. Oh well, as always communication helps!
yj_eugene Posted May 16, 2017 #37 Share Posted May 16, 2017 From Royal Caribbean Website FAQ section on "Room Service":"Q: Are gratuities included in the room service charge? A: Gratuity is included in the delivery charge for room service. Additional gratuities are at the guest's discretion." That certainly wasn't the case when we were on the Brilliance last month. We were charged both a $7.95 fee plus a separate gratuity.

Interesting, that's the first I've heard of a gratuity added on top of the $7.95.

Did you dispute it? I certainly would have. At the roll out of changes like this, some ships are bound to get it wrong. One just needs to come equipped with some knowledge on the matter - reason alone to slog through some of the CC threads.

luv4cruises Posted May 17, 2017 #43 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Live from the Liberty! 7.95/per order. We are very upset about this - cutback! After 9:00 - there are few options for a late night snack- just the dryed out sandwiches from the Promenade Cafe. Room service was one of rhe nicest perks of cruising that set its part from land based vacations. It provided that touch of luxury and convenience for the ordinary cruiser. Very very upset to see this service taken away. If you want it back write to RCi.

DPrincess81 Posted May 17, 2017 #45 Share Posted May 17, 2017 That really is a bummer! That was one of my favorite DCL perks - I always felt spoiled. Oh well... no room service for us in October I guess!
