georgiaguy Posted May 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Just a few weeks from our sail away and so I checked in with my cruise agency about upgrades. They told me we could get an upgrade to Concierge Class from a 2C (partially obstructed veranda) for $220/pp. Is this a good deal?
Rare Miaminice Posted May 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Unless you need the points or really prefer the stateroom IMHO CC is not worth paying more.
Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted May 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Do you get additional perks? If not. . no.
dkjretired Posted May 11, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Do you get additional perks? If not. . no. Agree, unless you get more perks as stated like a beverage package or tips paid I would not. Most of the perks of Concierge are fluff or available to everyone on board.
IDB37 Posted May 11, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Agree. CC adds little, apart from the extra cost.
Driveshaft Posted May 11, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Just a few weeks from our sail away and so I checked in with my cruise agency about upgrades. They told me we could get an upgrade to Concierge Class from a 2C (partially obstructed veranda) for $220/pp. Is this a good deal? 5 points per night cruised, I did it once to get to elite larger sq ft cabin on Millennium class only bottle of Shampagne in cabin Celebrity brand, ok for mimosas fresh fruit usually an apple pear and orange per day afternoon canapes - ask steward to swap to cheeses crackers and grapes. Then it is a neat snack embarkation lunch debarkation lounge with coffee and pastries.
CruisersTimesThree Posted May 11, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 11, 2017 CC cabins also get to have lunch in the MDR on embarkation day. May be worth it to some people to avoid the crowded buffet.
georgiaguy Posted May 11, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Ok. That is what I was thinking as well. Thanks everyone!
lnuzzo Posted May 11, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 11, 2017 Also, you do receive priority check in, if that is important to you Sent from my iPad using Forums
Talex831 Posted May 11, 2017 #10 Share Posted May 11, 2017 IMHO, no it is not worth it. We had the opportunity to upgrade for $150/pp and turned it down. We did sail concierge previously because we got all 4 perks with our booking and it was a much better deal, but it doesn't seem to be anymore. We just upgraded to Concierge Class as well.
fvalanzola@gmail.com Posted May 11, 2017 #12 Share Posted May 11, 2017 About a month ago my wife upgraded us to Concierge from balcony because she got us all 4 perks and it wound up to be 75 dollars less. I guess its all about timing. Sent from my XT1585 using Forums mobile app

NLH Arizona Posted May 11, 2017 #14 Share Posted May 11, 2017 CC cabins also get to have lunch in the MDR on embarkation day. May be worth it to some people to avoid the crowded buffet.Keep in mind it is a very limited menu. The only two entrees on my cruise were lamb and fish. They were showing the menu to everyone as they entered, because many would sit down, get the menu and leave due to the menu items. I will say the chocolate cake was wonderful. Nebr.cruiser Posted May 12, 2017 #15 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Concierge cabins are worth very little extra to me--certainly not that much. We paid $50pp extra but got more OBC the last time. The perks really aren't all that great; most of them we didn't even use. I did like the footstool on the balcony!
dutchclogs Posted May 12, 2017 #16 Share Posted May 12, 2017 You do get the footstool which is nice if you use the balcony a lot. Also, in my--admittedly limited-- experience the bedding is superior.
Sumitup100 Posted May 12, 2017 #17 Share Posted May 12, 2017 Nobody has mentioned the upgraded Room Service Breakfast Menu you get with CC......... We had room service every morning with breakfast on the balcony. The difference in the menu for the CC was well worth it.
