Stairs to get on and off the Mariner

My wife has knee problems and will have trouble climbing a lot steep stairs. What can we expect?

It depends upon the tide. Sometime the stairs are more like a ramp and other times the stairs are like regular stairs - not overly steep. Having had knee issues for a long time (corrected 2 1/2 years ago), I would think that taking a cane with her would help. I do know that the Mariner has stairs for the crew (dramatically fewer stairs) that possibly can be used if you ask.

We have never used stairs just ramps that were fairly level to the dock. How steep and high would you say the stairs are if used? Thanks

It's usually a gangway with slats. It's impossible to say how steep it will be. It depends on the port and the tides. I, too, had knee problems until a couple of years ago. Even when the angle was steep, it was do-able, if a bit challenging.

Thanks for your input. I'm sure Regent will do everything possible to accommodate our needs if there is a problem.

I've also seen where they'll hold up the people disembarking and have two crewmembers roll a wheelchair down the ramp. Takes 30 seconds, no worries. You're 100% correct that Regent will do what's necessary!

Regent will handle any problems you may have. I use oxygen and a portable scooter. They are always there to help me on and off all their ships. Don't worry. It will be great.
