What do you do on sea days?

Recommended Posts

Just a fun thread, what do you like to do on sea days? They are my favorite part of the cruise! :D

Me, it is like something like this:

sleep in

have room service breakfast on the balcony

get a cup of coffee from Starbucks if the ship has it

walk a few laps on the jog tracks

check out the flow rider or the wall climbing if the ship has them

go up to the solarium before it gets too warm

time for lunch!

have a dip in the pool

lounge around the solarium if not too crowded yet

check out the gym or the spa

go back to my balcony to read

take a shower and get ready for dinner

dinner time!

check out the shops in the Royal Promenade if the ship has them

go back to room to change

walk a few laps around the outer promenade deck

soak in the hot tub

go back to my balcony to watch the stars

Good list ... I'd only make a few changes: I'd sleep in, eat breakfast in the MDR, and do my reading at the solarium pool in the morning. Private time with hubby at mid-day.

Wake up early. Coffee in Concierge or Diamond Lounge, work out at 7:15, lay out from about 8:30 - 2. Shower, relax and roam the ship, either enjoy a few glasses of wine on the upper decks and watch the sun set or go to the DL/CL or a bar with a view before dinner.

We actually do a very similar routine but when we are with the kids we add time at some kids activities. And we always try to make it to an evening show.

I think we learned on our cruise on the Freedom in March where we had a Family Promenade view that we have to have a balcony and bigger the better. Missed having meals out there and play time and relaxing time on the balcony.

Go to the gym at 6 am like I do every day

Take a shower

Go stake out my place at the pool and spend the entire day there. Have no desire to do anything else but enjoy the pool, soak up the sun, watch the pool games and do nothing.

Then in the evening, drinks, dinner, show (whatever order works)

It is usually a more leisurely day. We have breakfast in the dining room, walk around and explore, get our coffee from the cafe, either do an activity or hang out on our balcony.

On sea days, I am much more likely to eat at a specialty restaurant for lunch.

I also like to have a nap in the afternoon and catch the sunset from our balcony.

Same as you without the gym. Though I think you need to be up at 6am to stake the lounger. [emoji12]

I was aboard Vision and my seas days were something like this:

Breakfast in Giovani's Table

Hang out in Concierge Lounge while the suite was being cleaned

Read or surf the net while in the Solarium

Have a midday drink in Schooner's Bar and play trivia

Take an afternoon swim and do more reading

5PM cocktail in Concierge Lounge

Room service dinner in the suite at 6 PM

Watch the early show in the Masquerade Theatre

Listen to some music in a lounge

Call it a day. Its tough work but somebody has to do it.

Wake up around 6:30-7 (we have kids who don't understand lying in)

Breakfast (could be any place)

Hit the pool around 9am

Lunch at 11:30am

Kids go to kids club, mom and dad go to some activity (bingo, casino, class etc) or relax in cabin for a while ;)

Back to the pool at 4pm

Dinner at 5:30pm

Show or movie at the pool

Snack at the WJ or other location serving snacks

Bed at 9pm

Pretty easygoing really but more energetic than a day at home would be!

Sleeping past 7 or so is a waste of sunlight....

Get up, eat breakfast, head to the pool...read, people watch, etc....play mini-golf later...eat, drink, nap...whatever you want. It's YOUR vacation...do it your way!

Room service coffee around 7:00

Lounge about waiting for husband to return from gym

Breakfast in MDR, great time to get to know fellow cruisers

Off to the Solarium (shady area) to spend the day reading, napping, people watching

Pick up snack from WJ to eat in room - we often skip lunch or only snack

Shower then head to Diamond Lounge for drinks and more mingling with new friends

Dinner at a specialty restaurant or WJ (hubby doesn't like MDR)

Back to cabin. He goes to bed and I usually head out to do more people watching or find friends to hang out with!

AMEN !! We (my wife and I) also love love sea days. She loves the pool and hottub. While I'm not a 'pool and bake' person I LOVE the simple but elegant beauty of the entire ship. I love just walking every nook and corner of both inside and outside. When we're together, we love trying out different eating venues and then relaxing on the balcony, watching the bright blue water rush past. Ahhhh !! LOVE those lazy, sunny 'sea days' !! :)
