Oasis 6, 7 and 8

Recommended Posts

If there are any fare drops on any of the O class ships, I wish I could find them ! That is certainly not my experience. The 2 BR ATS that we booked on Harmony in Feb. of this year is nearly double the price for the same exact room in Feb 2019.

Prices are too high for me for Oasis class, For a family of 4 in the summer Oasis is $1500 more than Freedom of the Seas, and over $2000 more than Carnival Magic... Is it really worth that much more, need honest opinions trying to book one for end of July and would like to try Oasis, but want to know if its really worth that much more? Thanks for your opinions.... Oasis is around $6500 for 4, freedom is around $5000 and Carnival Magic is around $4000 with $400 OBC

For sure not!

There is nothing on Oasis that justifies such a premium!

You will get better service and more space on Freedom-class!(y)

I like Oasis. Go figure.

Great JS balconies, Park Cafe, Coastal Kitchen, hot dog stand, comedy club, aqua theatre, ice rink, designer shopping, massive casino, wipe out cafe, etc, etc, etc..

I don't flowride, but do enjoy watching best of the best at end of cruise. Probably don't need two of them, maybe something different on the other side.

I don't need to do zip line either. Carousel isn't important, never use solarium so I don't mind the small or missing pool.

I'd like to try the slides on Harmony, but would miss the beach pool umbrellas.

FWIW, I've never noticed this inward feel of the ship. Looking at the ocean through Windows just isn't something we do.

I agree with all you have said...well, except DS does use the Flowriders and love that there are 2 of them to handle the high demand.

I also don't really get the inward feel comments from so many. There are so many places on board to enjoy the ocean views. Granted, you won't be sitting in a bar watching the ocean go by....you have to "get out there"!

See Post #28

In retrospect, it might not be a good idea to refer to specific post #s since some of them may disappear after mod intervention and then the rest of the posts get renumbered, making the reference invalid.

It just dawned on me when our resident Oasis class hater mentioned having posts removed.

Shame that others coming to this site have to be exposed to trolling and misleading information like one poster we all know posts...

I hope that doesn't happen on the other thread, I'm on a roll, Kummelweck, that is. :')

Guess I'll have to get my buns in gear and read that. :)

Park Cafe beef sandwiches rule!

It's called Icon class and at the start will be more expensive than Oasis.

We'll see if they are anything like Freedom or not, considering they are 33% bigger, I have my doubts. I'd expect them to be much closer to mini-oasis than large Freedom.

I think Andrew would think differently about only having 1 flow rider

I sure hope Icon-class will not have the Walmart Garden Center and the useless Carousel-boardwalk!

Lets get rid of the buffets , all the bars, pools and all entertainment. Then put more cabins in as a result the price of cruising would be so much cheaper. While we are at it lets eat off of paper plates and just throw our garbage overboard, clean our own cabins and do our own laundry. Then lay off all those workers to put passengers in their cabins. We can really trim the fat , i think you are onto something here.

No space for those without a split hull design of Oasis class, but just for you I'm sure they'll include just as many other useless money grubbing venues.

Count me as one that thinks the Oasis class is too inward facing. Especially in the Promenade and Central Park areas it's easy to lose the feeling that you are on a ship. It seems to be a general trend in the industry to include more ocean facing public areas - ie the waterfront area on the NCL Breakway class ships and the whole concept of the MSC Seaside class.

However, the positives outweigh the negatives on the Oasis class and I don't think they are overpriced at all. I've priced several options across different classes, itineraries and cruise lines for next Jan/Feb and the Allure Western Caribbean sailing is among the best deals I've seen. There is a big premium on Harmony but you have the figure that with it being so new.

That was tried under the brand "Easycruises" a subsidary of Easyjet where you could daily choose to have your cabin cleaned or not- AC was extra per day- towels were charged for each......

I think they went out of business after 2 summers.... had one smaller ship sailing the Med on a 7 day loop where you could hop on and off at every port and paid your cruise daily like a hotel!

Exactly! But are we sure Icon does not have the split hull?

The split hull is the worst part of the Oasis-class!

Total disaster! So sad!:D
