Oasis 6, 7 and 8

Recommended Posts

RCI currently only has orders for Symphony and Oasis 5 at STX Europe.

The project Icon ships are being built in Turku and are currently planned for the early to mid 2020's.

The Oasis class ships are very popular but are quite expensive and have limited areas that they can sail. I haven't heard anything about Oasis 6, 7, 8 but at this time I suspect that the focus is on Project Icon and possibly at mid sized ships as the Radiance class is getting old and to the point where they are going to start needing extra maintenance (IMO).

I would bet that you won't see a ship smaller than Freedom class built by Royal.

Each oasis class ship generates a little under 9 million per week on a seven day cruise. Net profit runs about 650,000 per week. The bigger the the ship the bigger the profit, as long as they can fill a ship there is no stopping. RCL is planning on spending 6 billion on new ships through 2022. happy crowded cruising

Back in January, RCI trademarked 3 names...Symphony, Sunrise and Valhalla. We all know 1 came to fruition already. So who knows...maybe Sunrise and Valhalla are numbers 5 and 6. I've also seen the name Icon bantered about.

Icon project is supposed to be Royal's LNG based ships coming in 2022/2024

When we were on harmony they were saying they have quite a few more ships coming. Almost one a year till 2024. They went into some details but I didnt really pay close attention since it was such a long way off. The captain was comparing newer ships advances to iphone advances.

The thing is, some of the staff can't even get the most basic facts straight. The Captain on the Navigator said twice during the Captain's Corner that the new Royal Edge class coming next year will be great. Hmm... on second thought, maybe he plans to switch to Celebrity.

A friend send me at the 6th June a message that there is a leaked message where three more Oasis Class ships will come after 2022, and they also think to give the Vision Class away.

Well I don't like they will give the Vision Class away and 3 more bigger bigger and even bigger Oasis ships should come - but thats RCCL nowadays: putting everywhere more cabins on....

Currently they cant build bigger than the oasis class for docking reasons. Give them time they will make bigger and longer docks and dredge out to fit bigger ships. Im sure the size battle is not yet over. Oasis class ships have a very limited and to me boring port selection. But i cant deny those ships are gorgeous. Well see whats in store

I enjoy the freedom class over the oasis class of ship. Would love to see a second generation freedom class ship!

Absolutely agree on Freedom 2!

More Oasis-class is fake news - they have to run special sales and upsells now - to fill the existing current ones!

News flash - that has been going on for all ships for 3 years. And have you seen those specials for Oasis class - the GGG flier prices for an Oasis class cabin "on sale" is still higher than the regular price on many other ships.

If they build them...we will come...

I'll be coming as well.

However, I don't see the point in having a ship in the same class as Oasis that could be 15+ years younger than her.

I think they should develop the Oasis idea further and make it even bigger, like they did with Freedom after they built 5 Voyagers.

I suspect Oasis class ships will continue to evolve...like they have on each new ship.

Dry docks tend to keep the ships quite "fresh".

I like Oasis. Go figure.

Great JS balconies, Park Cafe, Coastal Kitchen, hot dog stand, comedy club, aqua theatre, ice rink, designer shopping, massive casino, wipe out cafe, etc, etc, etc..

I don't flowride, but do enjoy watching best of the best at end of cruise. Probably don't need two of them, maybe something different on the other side.

I don't need to do zip line either. Carousel isn't important, never use solarium so I don't mind the small or missing pool.

I'd like to try the slides on Harmony, but would miss the beach pool umbrellas.

FWIW, I've never noticed this inward feel of the ship. Looking at the ocean through Windows just isn't something we do.
