Can someone explain my Vegas rewards for OBC

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I'm happy to report I got my 250 OBC!! I followed the directions on the email and received a confirmation that it had been applied to my booking the next day. They also offered a reduced deposit in October if you booked in the Next cruise office. Thanks for all who helped!

Hey all. great thread. After reading and trying digest it all, I still have a question or two.

1- Everyone is stating that this is not combinable with other offers. No one mentioned C&A balcony discounts. Does anyone know?

2- The fine print speaks of having to book via RCI but then you can transfer to a TA. Has anyone booked with a TA and still got their OBC?

I ask as I booked 2 weeks ago via our regular TA, but have enough for the OBC and for once am within the time period. I figure I can always try and based on what folks stated, my points can get refunded if this doesn't work, but I don't want to waste my time (or my TA if she gets involved) if it's not an option).

Thanx again for any help.

Erika

1. This may be a mixed bag. Im pretty sure it's combinable with other offers. Offers we know it's not combinable with are group discounted pricing and bookings outside the US. I had the BOGO with KSF offers with OBC and no issues.

2. Has nothing to do with your TA. I booked with a TA and had no issues at all. You get an email (email with direction posted earlier in the thread) Forward that email fkllowing the specific directions in it and that's all. No TA no phone calls. Just OBC. Will take you 5 min.

Can be combined with CA and most standard discounts even BOGO 50 but not with free casino cabins and there may be other restrictions. I always use TA and they have applied my credit if requested within required time frame. Just redeem in slots rewards and they will send you an email with instructions. Follow simple instructions to get your OBC. It will be applied quickly and available in cruise planner or onboard.

After being unable to take advantage of thee rewards in the past, I skeptically read this thread and then applied for an award.

And ... thanks everyone. I sent my email late last night and had it applied to the cruise I booked last week through a travel agent. By this evening I have a confirmation it has been applied though was told to contact my TA if I needed a new invoice showing it.

Do Carnival rewards apply only to Carnival cruises or any of the lines owned by them? What about Royal....can rewards apply to Celebrity or Azamara?

Specific to the cruise line not the company.

We live in Canada and booked a week ago in CAD funds. Both my husband and myself have My life rewards accounts. We called to ask if we could cash in both sets of points for two $250 OBC. The Club Royale said yes. I figured they would take one to apply to our booking.

It has taken a couple of days but I just received the new invoice and they have indeed applied two $250 OBC credits to our March cruise. $500 USD OBC is a w e s o m e!!!

Our booking includes BOGO, a seniors discount and an instant savings discount. The OBC credits were added to this booking.

At the risk of putting the cart before the horse... here's how things worked for me.

Friday morning (9am) and immediately sent to RCI with the specific data required (cruise date, ship, booking,etc..). As I figured if I didn't hear by EOD Friday, I wouldn't hear til at least Monday. Saturday, about 5pm, I received confirmation that my OBC was applied to my booking. I booked through our regular on-line TA and our booking already had our C&A balcony discount along with OBC from RCI. I have no idea if our booking is part of a group booking with our TA. Nothing in my booking confirmation states that. I don't see the new OBC anywhere in my RCI booking on their website nor on my current confirmation from my TA. I plan to reach out to her this week and ask if she can see it.

Otherwise, as far as I can tell, this worked. Thank you all so much.

1) If you received an email confirmation from MyVegas that your OBC was applied...in theory...you should be OK. But not sure if you're "out of the woods" quite yet.

2) Your TA can/should immediately tell you if your booking is part of a group rate plan. If so, the OBC isn't supposed to be honored (but a few people have managed to get past that).

3) If processed correctly and accepted, you should see your OBC at the top of the RCi screen when you login and go into Cruise Planner for your cruise. It should say something like "$250 Credit". Based on your information above, it might take until Monday or even Tuesday morning to show up in this manner.

Thanks so much for this! I was always told only one reward per reservation. We already had one booked with a $250 reward under my name. After I read this, we bought another one under my husbands name this morning and emailed club Royale to have to added to our reservation. I just got the email confirmation that this was completed. So now we have a $630.05 CAD OBC in our cruise planner.

I just took another look at the T&Cs - it now says "Limit one cruise reward per player, per sailing". These types of rewards used to say "Only one MyVegas reward can be used per reservation". This is MUCH better.

I know they do not have as many rewards as they used to, but I am really liking these changes. Hopefully they stay this way (i.e. combinable with discounts and multiple per stateroom).

Thank you again again!

We didn’t think they would add both, but my husband asked after explaining it is two different my vegas accounts. The phone rep went to ask and came back and said yes. Awesome bonus for sure!

I booked last week for a cruise in December. Due to it sort of being last minute, I had to pay in full. When I tried to apply the OBC they said I couldn’t because I was after final payment. I emailed back and am waiting for a response but has anyone else experienced this? I saw where it said you had to apply within 30 days of booking and apply the voucher within 14 days of redeeming the voucher, but did not see anywhere that it has to be before final payment.

I know on the older rewards there was a caveat that the booking must have been made at least 30 days before departure but I am not seeing that or anything about final payment on the newer ones.

Also, I just noticed that while the app/facebook shows "Limit one cruise reward per player, per sailing" the email confirmation we got says "Only one myVEGAS Reward can be used per reservation."

The T&Cs on these things is pretty fluid lol.

Hi,

IF I book a back 2 back cruise, would I be able to apply for an on board credit for each cruise with My Vegas points? Also is there a limit on how many you can apply for within a year?

Thank you.

You should be able to but you will not be able to buy the same one. You can use 2 RCL rewards in 180 days but can only buy 1 of each until the rewards reset. So you could do a $250 on one cruise then $100 on the next.

Every few months you will notice RCL will stop being shown on MyVegas for a few days or weeks then will come back. Sometimes they change the rewards, sometimes they don't but that usually acts as a reset and would allow you to buy the $250 again

Thank you for this information. Hope to one of each when we book.

Also just a heads up that if you have anyone else in your room that plays MyVegas, they should be able to use their rewards too. Hubby and I both have $250 on an upcoming sailing

Out of curiosity, how was your cruise booked? US RCI website, via a TA, etc?

I ask because we are booked on Explorer next year, and tried to get the OBC. They refused on the basis that our cruise was booked through the Australian RCI website, saying that the US office can't access bookings made on the Australian site (and of course the Aus office doesn't want to know because MyVegas is a "US thing"). Funny thing is when we paid the deposit (via the Aus website) it was charged from Miami and we got stung with the applicable foreign transaction fee. So it all seems a little contradictory...

My experience with MyVegas and Royal. I booked a balcony room on 11/6 using a TA. The cruise price included onboard credit from royal, onboard credit from TA, resident discount, and a spa credit. The next day I sent myvegas 250 onboard credit request under my name and they applied it within 24hrs no problems. A few days later I sent myvegas 250 credit for my wife. They first denied the request stating it was after final payment. I responded questioning why and they responded say they made a mistake and applied the onboard credit.

Bottom line, booked a Cruise through a TA with discounts and onboard credits. I then was able to get a total of 500 onboard credit using myvegas for both my wife and I. Cruise is February 9th-17th
