What time can we drop off our luggage for Jewel in San Juan

Recommended Posts

We'd like to take a Segway tour on boarding day but it leaves at 1p.m., meaning we'd need to be assured we could drop off our luggage as early as 11 a.m. or so. Does anyone have any direct experience of when they allow you to drop luggage? Also, any idea on when check-in starts?

Our recent Jewel cruise out of San Juan was April of this year. We were in luggage line at 10:20 and at approximately 10:45 the porters started taking the luggage. We were in the terminal at 11:AM, through security, checked in at the embarkation desk, Seapass cards in hand and on the ship NLT 11:20.

This is an excellent plan....

Both Jewel and Adventure you can drop off your luggage easily at 11am. You can easily walk the 45-50min to the OSJ pier where the Segway Tour company is, or easy 10-15min taxi (what... maybe around $20?)

I've done the Segway in SJ and it's a very fun excellent little tour! You're going to have a ball before boarding :D

Thanks. We've done the tour before (and you're right, it's great) but our friend has not. Also, with an evening departure, we find ourselves sometimes just poking around the ship wish it would go. Better [for us] to have a plan.

Google maps confirmed my guess that it's about 3 miles from one pier to the other. Not everyone would consider that "easy" in the heat in San Juan........... Yes taxi should be 20.00 at most.

OP: We've boarded in San Juan 7-8 times, have always been able to check the bags by 11:30 at the latest.
