What's the first thing on your agenda?

We usually get on and get a Funship Special for my wife, and a Thirsty Red Frog beer for me.

Go drop off our luggage and find a nice shaded spot to watch them load the ship. Its always fun to watch the pallets of things loaded onto the ship. Who would think we would need 3 pallets of just watermelons for a 5 day cruise!

I like to go to port and watch them load up the ship when I'm not going on a cruise lol! I get to dream!!!

Grab a drink on the way to dropping bags in the room, check everything is there that should be, then have some lunch, check our dining room table assignment and we used to wait on serenity until muster. Now, we have a little one, so we'll have to find somewhere else to hang out.

So we go to cabin, check out room, unpack carry ons and backpacks. We check out ship and casino, eat somewhere, add days favorites to hub, find mdr, go to muster drill, go up for sailaway, go back to room unpack suitcase if there, go back to casino if open, eat dinner and go to show. This October may stay after sailaway for awhile and watch the Dream cruise down the river and change it up a little.

1. Board the ship...and sadly miss the "ding" sound. :(

2. Go to Shore Excursions and reserve a spot for the Behind the Fun tour

3. Also, reserve a good cabana/villa location for HMC (as applicable)

4. Drop stuff at cabin with FTTF; change into bathing suit if I'm not already wearing one

5. If the ship has a Mongolian Wok, go there for lunch as it's one of the few times it won't be busy

6. If not, then Guy's, Blue Iguana or (if present) Ol' Fashioned BBQ, depending on the lines

7. Get Cheers sticker and start to break even on it :)

I'm so glad you shared this! Where do you sit to watch? We're sailing in 6 months, our 9th cruise, and have never watched this before. I'm very excited to sit, wine in hand, and watch the food goings on! Thank you:)

Depends on the ship, but usually Lido deck, on the port side. If it is a Fantasy class ship, they outside on lido. If Dream class the by ocean plaza deck 5, outside.

Just as long as i have a place port side, it is good.

Drop of carry on with beverages in our cabin (we are Platinum so cabins ready when we board).

Eat lunch in Lido buffet.

Unpack (Platinum priority of luggage arrival) before muster drill.

Read daily newsletter.

DH looks around the ship if it's a new one to us.

Depends

On my upcoming Liberty trip my first thing I am doing is going to my room, unpacking, and then stopping for some ice cream before I grab lunch

On the magic trip I have booked I am heading straight to guys burgers to get a picture of a burger in order to win a contest that was started in our group on facebook - grab ice cream on the way to next spot - then I am going to guest services to get some extra keys since we are playing swapsies in our 2 cabins - then I will be checking out my spa room and hopefully go find a hot tub that I can soak my back in

check on the table we have for dinner each night table for two

I do the same thing! We wait until around 1-1:30 and then head to our assigned dining room to search for the Maitre d'. My mother has a hearing issue, and prefers to not sit with other cruisers. I have already emailed the maitre d' prior to the cruise, and they usually have already accommodated us.

I usually purchase FTTF. So I'm usually on board by 11:30 - 12. I head straight for our room to drop off carry ons. Then it's to the Lido deck for a drink and some food. When it starts getting crowded, I head back to the room to start unpacking. By muster, I am unpacked, relaxed and ready!

That is not the "ding" sound I was looking for. :D

Although from Royal and not Carnival, I think THIS is the same sound we'll miss. (Surprisingly, I could only find one video of just the "bong" sound on YouTube. :o )

I'll miss this funny little sound; it's always signaled the "official" beginning of the cruise for us.

We use to go straight to Lido with all of carry on and get lunch, but now we get to drop off carry on before we go to Lido. Use to have to check where we were seated but now we have any time dining so we no longer have to check seating assignments. Now we wait for all the other in our party and take all of their carry on to our room before we go to Lido then explore the ship before they let everyone go to rooms.

The first thing my DW and I do is head to the MDR and make sure our dinning time/ table is what we want. Which by the way is early dinning and 6-8 top, we like to meet people. Also if possible we look at the week of menus and find the night the we like least. Then we book the steak house for that night:cool:. However our next cruise we just booked the steak house for the very first night for the *50% off bottle of wine*. At first we did it for the free bottle of wine. Then I started asking around about the free bottle, and everyone was the same, the free bottle of wine "SUCKS". So we are probably going to get a 50% off bottle, hope this helps.
