Mosquito repellent needed?

Do I need to bring mosquito repellent for Alaskan cruise for August 26 sailing? Is it a problem?

You never know so I would bring it.

 

We were on a 9 day land tour and finished with a 4 day cruise down the inside passage. We had repellent but never used it.

To a certain extent, it may depend on the type of shore excursions you are taking. If you are leaving the port cities in general, I would recommend a small bottle of repellent.

I doubt that our OP will need mosquito repellent that late in the season. But most, if not all, of the major manufacturers of repellent now offer their product on saturated wipes individually wrapped in foil packets. Think of those hand wipes that restaurants may offer to those who order messy to eat rib or crab meals. Same idea, but those wipes are saturated with insect repellent. Very easy to pack, and we find that my husband and I generally share one.

I would bring it just to be on the safe side but hopefully you won't need it.

 

I would carry the wipes as Northern Aurora mentioned.

I just got back and didn't need it anywhere except if you are hiking in the woods.
