Ellipooh Posted August 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2017 We are planning a British Isles cruise that includes Dublin Overnight. We arrive at 7AM one day and do not depart until 7PM the following day. This is not a tender port. I am curious how this works for the pax. Can we come and go as we please, all day? And all night? Go carousing until 4AM and stumble back aboard at our leisure? Or is there a curfew? On Day 2, can we get off as early as we wish to go exploring? I presume dinner will be available in the MDR both days. But if we stay on board, will lunch not be served in the MDR either day (as these are both port days)? What about breakfast? I have searched for answers, to no avail. TIA.
goofy559 Posted August 25, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2017 No curfew when in port. No limits on when you get off and on (other than to be back on board before the ship sails). An overnight in Dublin would be amazing!!
Rare Tak8 Posted August 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2017 I was on a Caribbean Princess May British Isles cruise with an overnight in Dublin. You can come and go as you want. Great for the late night crowd and the early risers wanting to experience a Dublin breakfast or whatever.
paul929207 Posted August 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2017 You can come and go as often as you please. Many will take a tour each day. Some will go to dinner in Dublin. You could get off as soon as the ship is cleared on day one and not reboard until 30 minutes before sailing on day

Any thoughts about the MDR questions in the original post?
FritzG Posted August 25, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 25, 2017 Lunch is rarely served in the mdr on port days unless the port arrival is after noon. For dinner all of the dining rooms will probably be anytime dining, including the TD dining room.
cnd crsr Posted August 26, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 26, 2017 All dining rooms will be open for dinner and operate as anytime dining on the night you stay in port because several passengers stay ashore over the dinner hour. It is great having an overnight as you get to experience the nightlife in ports. Wish the ships did this more often,
KevintheIrishDJ Posted August 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 26, 2017 Most pubs don't have a curfew; however, they close around 2AM. The Temple bar is an overpriced tourist trap, you wanna hit up the area between Grafton Street and George's Street, or Camden Street, Lesson Street, Baggot Street. skynight Posted August 26, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 26, 2017 The DR will be open for breakfast and dinner each day. The DR will be closed for lunch. All other food venues, such as the buffet, International cafe, grill, pizza will be open normal hours. The cruise staff will have some daytime activities, such as trivia. There will be some evening entertainment in the lounges around the ship. Probably no shows. MUTS will operate. There might also be a movie in the theater.
