Dupont941 Posted September 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Any recommendations for parking at or near the Miami port? Sent from my iPad using Forums
Clarea Posted September 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Welcome to Cruise Critic. Parking right at the port is the safest and most convenient.
Dupont941 Posted September 7, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Thanks I was leaning to parking " on campus ". Sounds safer too. Our first cruise out of Miami always Lauderdale before.
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 7, 2017 I also want to second parking at the port. It is well worth the slight extra expense to come back from your cruise and know your car is in safe hands. The port in terms of passengers terminals is smaller then Fort Lauderdale and parking is relatively close to the terminal. Keith
JohninDC Posted September 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Parking at POM is covered, convenient and secure - and costs $20/day. Lots of parking available - no need or ability to reserve a space. Have a great cruise and welcome to the boards!

Rare Keith1010 Posted December 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Yes you are right. Prices are going up. Still the place of choice for convenience and safety. Keith
poncho1973 Posted January 19, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Is the parking like some other ports, where you actually pay for 8 days on a 7-night cruise?
JohninDC Posted January 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Nope - 7 day cruise = 7 days of parking
BonnieH Posted January 20, 2018 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Nope - 7 day cruise = 7 days of parking so is there tax on the $22 per day? Or just a straight $154 for 7 days??? I've heard it's cash only. Is that correct?

No tax on the parking. From the port web site: " All of our garages and Lot E accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or any major U.S. Traveler's Check. No debit cards are accepted." Check http://www.miamidade.gov/portmiami for more info
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted January 21, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I'm in totally agreement with the others about parking at the port as the safest place in downtown Miami. As a local, there is no where else I would leave my car overnight.

As a local, there is no where else I would leave my car overnight. As a first time driver to the port, I'll take the consensus and park at the terminal. Now my question is what time can I arrive and find a spot available? I'm Diamond with Carnival, so I like to be among the 1st to board the ship - would 10AM be a good time to get to the garage?
