Eric234 Posted November 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Is this a call ahead for a reservation type of restaurant or can you walk up and get a seat anytime to have an appetizer and some drinks? Rare Coreysgrl06 Posted November 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Just walk up and you can get a seat. We were on Escape last week and we saw very few people there. You shouldn't have a problem getting seated right away.
Eric234 Posted November 21, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Alright, thank you. We are getting excited for our trip in February. First timers with NCL. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app
LrgPizza Posted November 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 21, 2017 Just keep in mind that there is a $15 + 18% gratuity cover charge per person at this restaurant on Breakaway, regardless of what you order. That fee will cover all you care to eat, but would make for some expensive apps.
MikeBTN Posted November 21, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2017 It’s a ghost town. Do not expect the same atmosphere or food quality as a land-based Margaritaville.
keith00200 Posted November 24, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2017 It’s a ghost town. Do not expect the same atmosphere or food quality as a land-based Margaritaville. I second that, on the Escape earlier this month we never saw more than 4 people in the entire restaurant at any one time. We were not interested due to the up charge so I can’t attest to food quality.
the_dylaness Posted November 24, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2017 On escape we rarely saw anyone in it, except for on embarkation day. It was offered as the lunch option for Haven cruisers instead of the Haven restaurant. I was not pleased with this. After traveling all day with two small children and being hot and sweaty waiting to get in the terminal, the last thing I wanted to do was eat in an outdoor restaurant. the_dylaness Posted November 24, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 24, 2017 Also it was about a 20 minute wait to get a table at that time. I guess the whole Haven ate there.?? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
dcs1989 Posted November 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted November 28, 2017 I think the main issue with Margaritaville is its outside by the sun / pool area...and since its a "Dining Facility" they require shirts, shoes...of which most people on this area are in bathing suits and get turned down. tallnthensome Posted November 28, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Is this fee (cover charge) on the Escape also?Yes, it's a huge waste of space. Completely empty when we were on the Escape. Nobody wanted to pay for it, wisely enough, including us.
deladypilot Posted November 28, 2017 #12 Share Posted November 28, 2017 We are really hoping that they will see that making Margaritiville an upcharge restaurant is a mistake. We sailed on the Escape in October of 2016 before it was upcharge and ate there quite a bit but not enough to warrant paying 15.00 per person each time. The place was busy then almost always. So hopefully the fact that it seems to be empty all the time now will show them the error of their ways
rtkenmore Posted November 28, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 28, 2017 No, items are individually priced at this dining venue. There is no set flat cover charge. OHRiverRats Posted November 28, 2017 #14 Share Posted November 28, 2017 Agreed. We love Margaritaville, but can’t see paying an upcharge for it when there are so many complimentary options available.

LrgPizza Posted November 28, 2017 #16 Share Posted November 28, 2017 has it changed back then? great news if it has. I've never seen a report of it changing to cover charge on any ship other than Breakaway, where it was being tested. It has been a la carte pricing on Escape and Getaway. tarps14 Posted December 3, 2017 #25 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Posted this on the other thread so I figured I'd put it here as well. Sitting on the Escape now and Margaritaville has a $16.95 cover charge 12p-5p.
