Will we have to disembark in FLL on the second leg of our cruise,or can we stay on the ship? thx Gil:confused:

IIRC You will receive specific instructions that will likely be to meet in the theater or a lounge and you will be escorted from there through the process that is required. YOU MUST SHOW UP IF DIRECTED TO DO SO! You will also likely receive new cruise cards the evening before the first disembarkation.

You may be able to re-board the ship after a waiting period. It all depends on when they zero out that cruise and are then able to begin the boarding process for the next cruise.

Most B2B cruises at an American port require that the ship is cleared of all pax. That means you will have to clear Customs and Immigration. Then you are free to go sightseeing or just to wait for clearance to re-board. That can take a fairly long period depending on many factors!!! But when you are able to re-board make sure that you are prominently displaying your "IN TRANSIT" sticker so you can bypass check-in. You will still have to go through security though.

Hpeabody is spot on. Some additional information follows.

If the cruise staff is on the ball, you'll get a cruise card good for both segments. If not, you'll get your second one before the last night of the first segment.

As far as disembarkation at the end of the first segment, if you're in the same cabin, no need to pack up anything. If you're changing cabins, your steward will assist this process. Sometimes you don't even have to empty drawers as if they're interchangeable with your new cabin, they'll just swap the drawers.

We doing a B2B2B next year with the first segment terminating in FLL. We expect we'll do an Everglades airboat excursion during that day.

We did a b2b on the Royal two years ago. Turnaround was in Fort Lauderdale. There were about 600 of us doing the b2b.

We had two choices, first was to get off the ship before 10:00am and get back on when boarding started (usually about 11:30 or noon).

The other choice for those still on at 10:00am, we had to go to the theater. When we arrived there, we were scanned off the ship. When everyone was there, we were scanned back on and had our passports checked by US immigration. We could then either stay on the ship or get off to shop or just walk.

Last April, we were on b2b on the Crown. Based on written instructions sent to cabin around 2 days before the end of 1st segment in FLL, we met at 10am at Princess Theatre. When all on b2b are accounted, we were led by a Princess staff to the terminal for passport inspection by CBP, then proceeded at once back to ship.

Unfortunately you WILL have to disembark at FLL on the second leg...time to go home. But on the bright side you may not have to at the end of the first leg!

The answer is Maybe. It depends on how many people are doing the B2B. We have had it both ways. If there are only 10-20, then in all probability you will have to get off. If there are a few hundred then you will probably meet in the theater or a dining room. You can get off at any time if you want to do an excursion, but you will not be allowed back on until the ship is cleared.

Is the procedure different if the b2b was booked as a 20 night sailing; not as 2 10 nighters?

Also, our cruise personalizer says that we have 3 formal, & 17 casual nights. How isthat possible if there are normally 2 formal nights on a 10 night sailing?

Procedure is the same no matter how it is booked. When the ship returns to FLL U.S. regulations require that you go through immigration.

Each 10 day segment will have 2 formal evenings.

Thanks! We've done b2b before, but always booked as 2 separate sailings. I didn't think it would be different, but thought i'd check. The 3 nights of formal didn't make sense either, so it must be their system seeing 20 nights, so assumes 3 formal nights.
