ToothDoc78 Posted November 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2017 Do you tip the casino host (or is this even allowed)? Obviously if you're not spending time in the casino it would not apply to you, but on our last cruise, the host went out of her way to make sure we got our VIP status, as well as applying an additional obc to our account as a "thank you." We always tip our servers and dealers well, but it never occurred to me if this was customary or even allowed with the host. We did mention her favorably on the survey as well. Thoughts? Yes, you can tip the casino host. They would greatly appreciate it.
sellwingri Posted November 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2017 I'm sure it would be appreciated if you tipped in cash since that's the only way to ensure he/she actually gets the money. My understanding is that dealer tips are shared with everyone in the casino including the Hosts.
cb at sea Posted November 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I've never heard of tipping the "host"..but we do tip the dealers, especially, if we're winning...and while it's NEVER happened on a ship for us, we would tip the slot attendant if we need to be "hand paid".....it's only polite! And yes...dealer must pool their tips...just like bartenders do!

Chips. If you are on a hot streak, ask the dealer if she wants to take the chip or play it. On a three card table in Vegas, dealer played it in bonus area and that player hit a straight flush. Dealer was very happy. Pit boss was not. Tapes were reviewed. Game stopped for 30 minutes or so. Player was paid and dealer was switched out. It was very exciting. SRF Posted December 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted December 1, 2017 Typically I play extra for the dealer. Place the chip out in front of the bet circle. EVERY time I asked, they preferred to play. So I stopped asking. Never had one complain.
