KMR Posted March 20, 2018 #552 Share Posted March 20, 2018 We got assigned to cabin 12265. It is the very last cabin on the side of the ship. I have seen pictures of a window washing machine that is stationed right there. Could anyone please tell me if that machine would block the balcony and make it an obstructive view cabin. Thank you. SNJCruisers Posted March 20, 2018 #554 Share Posted March 20, 2018 That's what happens sometimes when you roll the dice to save money and book a guarantee cabin. Sometimes you luck out and get a great cabin or maybe an upgrade. Other times you get the crappy end of the stick and get stuck with a bad cabin. Sometimes you luck out and get a great cabin or maybe an upgrade. Other times you get the crappy end of the stick and get stuck with a bad cabin. First, just because you book a guarantee cabin does not mean you are rolling the dice to save money....we booked a guarantee on this sailing because that was all that was available in the standard balcony cabins this close to sailing. You are guaranteed a cabin in the category you purchase or better....in our case a BD. We ended up with a great cabin on Baja deck, midship, category BB. SNJCruisers Posted March 21, 2018 #557 Share Posted March 21, 2018 Sooo, does that mean it IS or IS NOT obstructive? It will be obstructed when the cleaning mechanism is in front of your balcony and it will not be obstructed when it is doing it's job elsewhere. Not everyone lives in FLA and can drive to the port to take advantage of last minute deals like you did and because of this, all that was left in the standard balcony category you wanted was a guarantee. You were in fact rolling the dice to save money because you waited until close to sailing to book your cabin. If you really wanted to go on that particular sailing and sail in a particular balcony category, you would have pulled the trigger prior, but it probably would have cost you more money. So you played the waiting game since you can because of your proximity to the port and you got the BD to BB upgrade. Bravo, it worked out for you, but please don't tell me you were not rolling the dice to save money because in fact, you were.

sidari Posted March 21, 2018 #559 Share Posted March 21, 2018 The wash machine does not block the view of 12265 as it is anchored outside the Aft cabins.
Cullyman15 Posted March 21, 2018 #560 Share Posted March 21, 2018 Here's what I've been reading: Yacht Club guests have their own dining areas and their butler can arrange their times to suite. I don't know if you can bring guests in who aren't staying in Yacht Club. Even if staying in Yacht Club it is possible to eat elsewhere on the ship if you prefer. Don't know how that works with the MDR but your butler would arrange specialty dining so probably through the butler. Everyone else either gets assigned dining meaning you are booked in one of the dining rooms at a set time and table every night to start with or has flexible dining which allows them to walk up during set hours and eat in the MDR. Usually flexible dining is a special group of tables and you can ask to be seated with new friends or even for them to seat you with others who've said they'd like to enjoy dinner with potential new friends. Edit to add: Specifically on one of the videos it was reported the 4 and 2 tops were all the flexible dining plan at least on the TA. You can opt to eat in the buffet but if you have a scheduled dinner time please notify the reservations so they won't wait your table's start of service thinking you are just late for dinner. It has also been reported in one of the videos you can ask to eat during flexible dining with or without others of your choosing even if you have a scheduled dinner time and they will allow you to do so if space is available. Also if you are set dining time and want other dinner companions after the first dinner you can ask to be switched. Space available I'm sure. :) Which restaurant(s) have flexi dining? It was a last minute discision to cruise because friends of mine all of a sudden got a fantastic casino deal and decided to cruise 2 weeks before I booked. I would have booked right then but I was waiting for my daughter to commit to the sailing. As a matter of fact I had seen a mini suite for $1299/pp duringthat time that I was dying to book but still hadn't gotten the commitment from her. So by the time she said ok, that deal was gone and only balcony guarantees remained. So please don't tell me that I waited to book to save money...that was not the case, at least this time and you can't presume to know why someone books when they do. I can't imagine how you would know what my motivation to book a cruise might be?

Cruise Cynic Posted March 22, 2018 #563 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Sailed on March 03. We got "free" internet with our Fantastica Package (at the time they called it Internet Surfer Plus).... only to discover that it was quietly reduced to two devices only. I pointed out to the Internet Tech: "Hey bud, we're FOUR PAYING CLIENTS in the cabin". Big shrug. So we had to buy the premium internet for Four devices. It immediately cancelled our "included" plan. Poof! and it was gone. No credit, nothing. Internet service was highly annoying. Had to constantly "reset" it by disconnecting and reconnecting. Never knew if it was working or not. Apps like Outlook didn't work at all. Facebook was spotty at best. Awful quality for the $129 charge. And they limit the data to 6gb, so you run out quickly. Turned off "Background App Refresh" on all our phones, but data still drained mysteriously: Went to bed one night with 3gb left and woke up with 2.5. They will happily top you up (another $49 for an additional 2gb) but we decided that an Internet Diet was best. Teenagers were predictably surly for the rest of the cruise. spidybabe Posted March 24, 2018 #568 Share Posted March 24, 2018 No craps tablesCorrect, no craps. Casino could take too big a hit, and too much staff needed to man the table-as per Casino manager (same one from on the Divina now on Seaside). No craps either ship Safe sailing Sent from my SM-N950U using Forums mobile app

janineallison Posted April 7, 2018 #570 Share Posted April 7, 2018 And here are photos of the coffee and cocoa beverages offered at Venchi. There are two Venchi locations onboard -- one in the Piazza Grande on Deck 6 and another outdoors in the South Beach Pool area on Deck 7. The one on Deck 6 is more about Italian hot chocolate (which has the consistency of brownie batter and is absolutely amazing), specialty coffees and chocolate alcohol, as well as chocolate confections, while the one on Deck 7 serves ice cream bars, waffles and crepes. They both offer gelato and milkshakes (made with said gelato). This isn't the complete Venchi menu -- just the pages that have nonalcoholic drinks. A lot of the menu links are now broken. Anyone know where I can find photos now?

se817396 Posted April 18, 2018 #573 Share Posted April 18, 2018 I have a very specific question about YC deluxe suites. Has anyone stayed in one of these rooms on Seaside with children? I am getting conflicting information on the bed layout. We are currently in 16015 that has a double sofa bed. We are interested in a different bed arrangement for the kids. I'm wondering if anyone has stayed in 16047, 16045, 16043, 16041, 16032, 16030, or 16028? If so, can you confirm the bedding layout? Do these rooms have the sofa that turns into bunk beds? Or do they have a single sofa bed and one pullman bed? My MSC rep says they have a single sofa bed and one pullman bed. But the latest deck plans show a double sofa bed and one pullman. Hoping someone has actually stayed in one of these rooms and can confirm. Thank you very much.
Proseccoandsun Posted April 18, 2018 #574 Share Posted April 18, 2018 We were in 16041 for the Inaugural Cruise from Miami with 2 children. It definitely has a double sofa bed and a pullman. I did post photos on here a few weeks ago. My understanding is that there are no bunk beds in YC at all on Seaside. I did post photos on here I have a very specific question about YC deluxe suites. KMR Posted April 19, 2018 #575 Share Posted April 19, 2018 If you purchase the water package, how do you get the water? Are all the bottles in your cabin when you check in or do you get a coupon to go someplace to get them? Thank you.
