shaunap999 Posted September 9, 2018 #126 Share Posted September 9, 2018 I just got off Majesty and after several discussions with host am still confused. I had enough points for the inside cruise certificate and Prime status. But as I understand their program, even though I achieved enough points for Prime this period I will not be Prime until next point period. Seems incorrect or at least very strange.I can also confirm that they no longer give a drinks on us sticker at 1000 points. You must get 2500 points. Sent from my iPad using Forums Yes you already have your status currently gained from last years period whether or not u were aware of that fact... and until 31/3/19 you are collecting points for your next years status. So from 01/04/19 and from that very day you can have your free prime cruise, and free drinks on every sailing, so that’s between 1/4/19 and 31/3/20 where you are also then earning points for the following year (1/4/20-31/3/21). Hope that makes sense!
Rare John&LaLa Posted September 9, 2018 #127 Share Posted September 9, 2018 And I was told by CR it was July 1, 2016- March 31,2018 for this years benefit. Then on another call I was told the points from January 1, 2018-March 31, 2019 was for the next years tier. Then on another call I was told it was the points from April 1, 2018- March 31, 2019. So which rep is telling the right information. I wish they would send something in writing. Got off the phone with Casino Royal yesterday. Was told the current rating season started on April 1, 2018. After 4 cruises Laura has 2100+ points, so she is on track to keep Prime in 2019 Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I would probably still get Signature if it was from January 1st, as I already have over 10,000 points from my 3 cruises from January through March, but if they are not counting those cruises, I'll only be getting Prime. maryjaden Posted September 9, 2018 #130 Share Posted September 9, 2018 For those of you that are better versed in the program, I have a question. I am currently Prime. I am going on a short 4 night cruise March 25 - 29 (I will not get enough points to get to next level). When I cruise after April 1, 2019, will I retain Prime status? Cruises after April 1, 2019 points will be counted from April 1, 2018 - March 31,2019. So unless you get 2500 points on the March 25th cruise you will not be Prime for the next year. maryjaden Posted September 9, 2018 #132 Share Posted September 9, 2018 Cruises after April 1, 2019 points will be counted from April 1, 2018 - March 31,2019. So unless you get 2500 points on the March 25th cruise you will not be Prime for the next year. Thank you. I cruised in May of 2018 earning my Prime status. After the March cruise, I'll probably have about 10,000 pts. total. So the way I ununderstand this, I will continue to be Prime after April 1, 2019. So yes you will be Prime for April 1, 2019-March 31, 2020. Points from January 2017- March 2018 qualified you for Prime status now. Your points go down to 0 every April. Rare JessyCruises Posted September 9, 2018 #135 Share Posted September 9, 2018 I have a a weird one - when we sailed at the end of April 2018 on the Freedom, I got a letter saying I was Choice and Hubby got a letter saying he was Prime, both of which we were expecting. Now I have a Prime designation - I was able to book my free cruise and everything. Whether the period ended 12/31/2017 or 3/31/2018, is it not strange that I got bumped up after my sailing? Not that I am complaining... :)
SailingSiggy Posted September 10, 2018 #136 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Greetings, new to the thread. Found out I was Prime on Harmony in July. Have never received any emails from CR. Took them the entire month of August to validate my status and issue my cruise certificate.
tcrandal Posted September 10, 2018 #137 Share Posted September 10, 2018 You are Prime until March 31st, and should be getting free drinks until then. The 2500 point requirement is for people that are new to the program. If they sail today they must get 2500 points to get free drinks on today's cruise. Those points will quality them for the next program year. Thank you for posting this! I was quite confused, as I earned about 2100 points on my last cruise in June of 2018, and did not get a VIP sticker as I saw people eluding to after only 1000 points. It would seem that since I was a brand new member at that time, I need to earn a total of 2500 before I see any drink benefit. Therefore, on my cruise coming up this Saturday, I just need 400 points to qualify and get a VIP sticker for drinks. Does that sound correct? I am sailing on a comp cruise that I upgraded to a GS GTY, and ended up with a Sky Loft, so I've already won! Can't wait!
11madmic Posted September 10, 2018 #138 Share Posted September 10, 2018 May 2018 points is counted towards your status for April 2019-March 2020. I was told that if you get the 2500 points now (After April 1, 2018) you will qualify for prime immediately and will be prime qualified from April 2019-March 2020 as well. In fact CR told me that the benefits are enacted immediately following a cruise so that if you were on a back to back cruise, the status would be effective. Honestly their communication is crap. I do have a question, though. I know on the old system with the free drinks, my spouse was entitled to free drinks if i was with her in the casino, but under prime and the new system, is that the case? I know on the old system with the free drinks, my spouse was entitled to free drinks if i was with her in the casino, but under prime and the new system, is that the case? Never heard of the spouse being entitled to the free drinks; however, some bartenders do ask if the spouse would like one also if up at the bar with the player. Our experience: no on Anthem, no on Adventure (just off several days ago) but most others have been accommodating. Before the new program, a couple casino hosts put the drink sticker on the spouse's card also or gave free drink coupons since they know us. So, no consistency. I’ve never had my spouse get free drinks based on my play. A Casino Host is in charge of the stickers that entitles cruisers with VIP Status and free drinks. It’s up to him who gets a sticker. 11madmic Posted September 10, 2018 #144 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Im confused then, on my last cruises in Dec 2017 and March 2018, when i had the sticker. both ships (Oasis and Adventure) I was entitled to free drinks, but they informed me that it means my plus one could have drinks too (my spouse) who is always with me in the casino, I never once asked for it. on my recent cruise I had the drink package so i never tried to getting a drink with my prime. I guess I will have to just see what happens in a few months :P
sippin-time Posted September 10, 2018 #145 Share Posted September 10, 2018 We just got off the Oasis yesterday and only my DH got a "prime" sticker put on his seapass but that's only after he asked for it (go figure)....he did request one for me but it was no go, I don't play enough to qualify a special sticker....although, I must say on other cruise lines, they were very generous...they have both drink cards ready for us in our cabin, we were impressed, of course, that was my incentive to go and play even more....maybe RCI should try that tactic:confused:....just sayin'.... Jzx1103 Posted September 10, 2018 #146 Share Posted September 10, 2018 (edited) Just got back from Adventure last week and they no longer use stickers. The word Prime was printed in my card. After the first night, the bartenders at the Casino pretty much remembered me and never had to check my card again. They also offered both me and my wife free drinks together even though only I'm Prime. Also racked up enough play to get another free cruise (balcony) certificate. Shockingly the list is much better than before, prior to this one, ive only seen 3 to 6 night western carribean sailings offered on these certificates. But this time the list includes all kinds of sailings, including up to 9 nights and 10 nights sailings. Even multiple Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania itineraries. Also saw multiple dates for 9 night Granduer out of Baltimore on the list. My wife and I immediately booked the 10 night New Zealand as this one was on our bucket list. Was pretty salty to lose about $800+ at first, but its worth it to get this cruise + Prime again for next cycle year. Now just crossing fingers my Visa application dont hit any snags since I'm not a US Passport holder, just applied this morning. One was a Euro looking dude with almost no hair, other was an Asian guy. We did tip them quite a bit. Also were you playing slots or table. They might not want to do it at Table games cause other people see it. Nobody's paying attention at slots.
idkanything Posted September 11, 2018 #150 Share Posted September 11, 2018 So here's one I can't find the answer to. I'm prime now, and already booked my free cruise for next year. The thing is, it leaves on March 30th, 2019. So I'll have 2 days in the old term and 5 days in the new one. They weren't able to tell me which year the points I earn on that cruise count for. Any guesses? Leave it to me to book on the cusp.
