3rd Guest Can't Go - Any Options?

Hello,

I am booked for a cruise that is 10 days away with my two brothers. Unfortunately one of them can't make it now as an unavoidable scheduling conflict arose. I'm going to call NCL later tonight but figured I ask here in case any of you have dealt with this before.

We used the 3rd guest free as our promo. Is there any shot we can switch to a different promo this far after final payment? Or will they be able to credit OBC? We do have the trip insurance but I have not yet looked in to if that will cover his portion of the trip.

Any insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

I was able to cancel my 3rd passenger after final payment. Was able to change my perk from 3rd passenger free to something else with no issues. Port charges, etc. paid for the 3rd passenger were refunded.

You can change your promos without a problem. Since he was a promo there is no penalty and you will get back any taxes and fees you paid for him. Just pick the new promo of your choice. If you select the SDP or the UBP you will need to pay the gratuities but you have to do that anyway.

Well, we did want a 3rd as this was a brother's reunion trip of sorts. The three of us haven't spent an extended amount of time together or traveled together in a long time so we were really looking forward to that. The two of us that are going are still beyond excited and will have a great time regardless of if we can change our promo or not. I just figured it's worth a shot to get the drinks or dining.

Update in case anyone come looking for the answer to the same question in the future:

I called CAS (casino booking) and they easily removed our 3rd guest and switched us to the UBP. We were refunded the port fees and taxes for the 3rd guest ($137.89), but not the insurance ($31). We then just had to pay the difference ($61) for the UBP taxes/gratuities. So yes, the beverage package is more expensive than bringing another person on the cruise for a week.

Thanks again for the quick replies to my question!
