clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #76 Share Posted January 28, 2018 We went and took 30 minutes after breakfast (buffet - overall good). They added another beyond the podium at 10 am - so checking that out while mom shops. They have the casino and shops open now. Random observation- there are no garbage cans on this ship - I finished my Diet Coke and couldn’t find one - even checked by the elevators on 4. I set my can on a table and felt guilty - but I guess I am just trained to properly dispose of stuff. Here are a few pictures from roaming the ship including the sign at the hot glass show, busy walking track and the gastro and martini bar. Time for Beyond the Podium. clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #77 Share Posted January 28, 2018 The Beyond the Podium was really good - He was funnier and a better speaker than last nights comedian - I am going to try and catch all of his talks. He was a PR person for NASA in the 60s and then ran Space Camp and had some great stories. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruising teacher Posted January 28, 2018 #78 Share Posted January 28, 2018 ^^ That is a pity. I know tendering is always a hostage to the weather but did not realise docking could also be relatively sensitive ? We r on Silhouette today. Antigua was cancelled for tomorrow. MR_T Posted January 28, 2018 #79 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Re.........What's wrong with Spacey? We were on in September and as cruise director he is responsible for getting the acts/live bands. They were pretty poor. I get the feeling he is full of his own self importance. That can be said about most CDs I guess... personally I find him one of the best [emoji51] and very glad it’ll be him on our cruise in May [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Sarasa Posted January 28, 2018 #80 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Tonight we ate at Tucson Grille (I forgot to get MDR menu pictures - but the app lists the menus for each day). Overall it was good and I was happy with my food/service. We had a 6:30 reservation and it was pretty quiet in there - we had a table for 2 by the windows. We are eating here a couple times - we did one of the dining packages.<snip> Crab cakes - I was half done when I took the picture - I though it was a good crab cake but I also am from Illinois. <snip> Entrees - Mom had the fish I had the steak <snip> Desserts - mom said the lemon cheesecake is just normal cheesecake with a bit of lemon on top. I was at the Tuscan Grille right around the same time. Your mom and I apparently have the same taste in food as I also got the branzino and the cheesecake! The "limoncello" part of the cheesecake was all in the curd that was smeared across the plate... it definitely would have been better if there had been more of the curd on or in the cheesecake. I am not from Illinois (although I did live in Chicago for a handful of years) and I thought the crabcake was good too. Nice and crispy breading and very little filler inside even though the crab was somewhat loosely packed. (Just in case you were the nice duo who offered to share a table with the solo who declined, I know myself well and I am usually not very sociable on the first night ). It made me uncomfortable to just leave trash lying around for someone else.
clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #82 Share Posted January 28, 2018 (edited) After the Beyond the Podium stopped by the cafe so mom could get coffee and a Diet Coke for me (I don’t drink coffee) then roamed a bit and went down to see the officers vs passengers archery tournament - best passenger score we saw was 4 points and crew was 6 - here is the inventory manager who got the 6. At Noon the dining room opened so we grabbed lunch in there. Mozzarella sticks - they were good - sauce was different - I prefer marinara. I got the steak and my mom got the turkey - she likened hers - my steak was fine, but cooked more medium well and was thin - but after last nights filet I am spoiled! clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #83 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Best part of the meal! I really liked mine, mom said hers was good, but not what she expected. After lunch we headed back to the cabin - our new dailies were available. I have pretty much been using the app - more convenient then carrying paper and it has updated as our schedule changes. Now I am hanging out in the solarium - more later. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted January 28, 2018 #84 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Thank you for the pic of the lunch menu. I noticed the little key at the top of the page for Vegan, Gluten Free, etc. This is a change from my last cruise...or maybe I just notice now that I have been told to avoid gluten. My upcoming cruise will be my first since being diagnosed with a gluten intolerance. Would you mind inquiring about the gluten free bread options in the main dining room? Just curious if they have any... Thank you!
Lorey2007 Posted January 28, 2018 #85 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Could you ask if they have Sprite Zero & caffeine free Diet Coke. If they don't I'll have to pick some up. Great live review thanks for posting we'll be on Feb 24th. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G930A using Forums mobile app

clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #87 Share Posted January 28, 2018 After lunch time to relax at the pool - after changing we left our room to discover this Not sure what they were working on. Next stop the solarium - it was pretty full but we found a couple seats with towels on them that the neighbor said they had left - so put the towels in the dirty towel bin and used them. Mom got a nap - the rocking of the boat and relaxing music put her to sleep. Waiting for my turn in the shower - the seas have calmed - 1st image is this morning and second is about 5 pm. Here are last nights and tonight snacks left in our room. They were pretty decent tasking - egg was my favorite. Time to get ready of evening chic. debrajean Posted January 28, 2018 #89 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Love all the work you are doing! Remember to watch for men in long or short sleeves at supper. We leave next Saturday on this cruise and my husband and son are worried they will have to park only long sleeve shirts!!! Thanks again for the wonderful pictures and reviews! If you get a chance please take a picture of the Martini bar.

Rare DENIE Posted January 29, 2018 #93 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Very enjoyable thread! We are on the Silhouette in November 2018, and loving the ship photos since it is a sister-ship. Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

clj7181 Posted January 29, 2018 Author #95 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Pre-dinner drinks at World Class Bar - they were very good. The pink on was the Paloma and the Yellow drink was the Sailors Crush. Sign outside for dress code - I have seen a little bit of everything - plenty of men in short sleeves. Menu: Appetizers - my only complaint is only 1 pita chip for all that dip so I ended up using a piece of bread. The sommelier Valeriu keeps refilling our glasses - TBD if that is a good thing or bad thing! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Dessert Menu We both got the Apple Crumble - this was better then our desserts from the last two lunches. Next up after dinner drinks and the 9 PM show. dfairchild Posted January 29, 2018 #99 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Thanks for posting all of this. We'll be on the Equinox in about 3 weeks. I'm very disappointed about the glass show, that is one of our favorite things on this ship!
