jamona2311 Posted January 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2018 I was wondering, since Carnival is getting rid of the regular TV stations, will they still be showing the Olympics? If so, where might that be? Ill be on the Vista and the Fascination. thanks, Gena
LuckyZ Posted January 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Don’t know about you but I can’t get enough of the Biathalon (cross country skiing meets shooting of guns). Sent from my iPhone using Forums
K&RCurt Posted January 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2018 I have been trying to find out the same thing. I asked on John Heald's FB page and got nothing but crickets as a reply. I am tending to think "no" since NBC has the coverage and they no longer are carrying the major US networks. I will be setting up my DVR for some binge watching when we get home! winddawn Posted January 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Olympics is being carried on NBC, and since Carnival ships no longer carry ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX locals, my guess would be that Carnival ships will not televise the Olympics. marshhawk Posted January 29, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Good grief-what tv is Carnival showing? Carnival tv? Well you do escape from the world when you cruise, and maybe we don't want to know what's going on in the world, but while I cant do anything about it, I still like to know what I am coming home to. I don't think DH and I watched any tv when we cruised in December- a movie, the morning show with Kevin on the elation, but nothing else.
JaxsMama Posted January 29, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2018 On the Magic last week they showed NFL playoff (CBS) on the big screen above pool, in the Red Frog Pub and at bar by mini golf. coevan Posted January 29, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Apparently the ship can buy individual coverage as they are showing the Super Bowl, but not in your cabins, only the big screen and the sports bar. The Super Bowl is on CBS as well
Hunter69 Posted January 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 29, 2018 There's a very much bigger sporting event in June-July. The World Cup. I know they will be showing that on Carnival.. :=)

I'm sure a couple revenue passengers will enjoy that with you. ;p
gatour Posted January 29, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Actually the Super Bowl is on NBC this year. K&RCurt Posted January 29, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 29, 2018 LOL at all the people who think NBC is the only network in the world to cover the Olympics. I agree, but live event and opening ceremonies coverage won't be on the limited number of Turner stations now available on Carnival.
Rare Essiesmom Posted January 29, 2018 #14 Share Posted January 29, 2018 Last two weeks on Splendor they showed a lot of cricket, the Australian Open (tennis), the NFL playoffs, college basketball. (Not all at the same time). ESPN and ESPN2, sports bar and casino bar only. EM
cmichael1279 Posted January 30, 2018 #15 Share Posted January 30, 2018 On Vista last week it appeared the sports bar had some sort of Pay-Per-View system for sports (I saw a menu pop up with a $ on it). They definitely had networks sports on in the Sports Bar, Casino, etc.

cccer Posted January 30, 2018 #18 Share Posted January 30, 2018 We were on the Breeze for the last summer Olympics and they had a big party on the Lido for the opening ceremonies. This was near the end of the cruise so I did not see how many of the games were on the tv. Of course, this was also the summer games so not sure about winter.
