Question about the casino

My wife is a bit of a gambler, me not so much. Is there a way to set a limit or separate account from our S&S account? Basically is there a way for her to set a hard limit of what she can spend that will cut her off and require her to re-up before she can spend more? I'm not really concerned about her doing anything crazy but it's a request she had. Thanks!

Your sail & sign accounts will be separate. She will load her casino player’s account from the funds available on her sail & sign. If she wants to set a limit to help control her spending, she can load an amount and use it until it is gone. She will just need to have some self control to not load more money once it’s gone.

Thanks. Let us know how your Elation cruise goes. We are getting on her 3/19.

We always set up our S&S on one credit card. I'm sure you you can set up 2 separate accounts with 2 different credit cards. If your wife can not control her gambling, if you have serious concern about her doing anything"crazy" she needs to talk to someone.

When you are about to print out all the info and tickets, you ca set up your accounts. you have the option to do separate sail and signs, and you can choose cash. when you choose cash, you give them cash, on board preferably, and then when she is out, she is out. I normally don't attach my sail and sign with the DH, I hate seeing that I am drinking at 3 in the morning. since I don't drink, but the last time we cruised I was cash short, so DH decided to do a joint account, and he found out that I gamble. :o another reason to do cash instead of a CC.

DW and I both take cash for the casino. We set up a limit of what we are going to spend each day. When we start, we put the cash into the machine. If we change machines, we cash out to the casino account on our cards. At the end of the nigh if there's anything left, we put it on the casino account on our cards. If we spend the daily allotment early, we leave. We never take money off the S&S account for gambling.

We just got off Elation Thursday. Had some good, some bad. First was parking at port, took over 30 minutes to get into lot after dropping off others. No particular reason as it wasn't crowded. Embark was good, we're Platinum and our friends are Diamond, so got on board quickly. Had one of the new upgraded balcony rooms, it was very TINY! First balcony room in about 17 cruises that didn't have a sofa or chair at all, only a stool under the desk! We had to bring a chair from the balcony to sit on in the room. The decor was nice, but didn't like not having a vanity area around the sink, not a lot of room to put toiletries. Our cabin steward Jonathan and his crew were awesome, our dining staff also. Had major snafu with dining time, our group was set for 6 pm early seating, but carnival had a large group of around 350 people to seat there so they bumped us to Your Time. After a lot of discussions, we ended up with an assigned table every night. The weather was crappy so didn't get much balcony time, but should be better for you in March. We did go to the new casino, Baha Mar, in Nassau, it was very nice. The food was good, no room service on debarkation day sucks. Elation is a small ship and easy to find your way around. Probably won't go on her again, but it was overall ok and you will enjoy your cruise!

One trick I have heard of is to go to the casino as soon as it first opens (first time of the cruise) and play people say you will have winners. This sets the mood for the week early and people will think they pay out. I have not witnessed this first hand:(, but I have heard this from a few "Seasoned" cruisers.

Last cruise, I ran downstairs right after the casino opened after setting sail. Three hits in on a slot machine and I hit for $150. Wasn’t even down there for 5 minutes.
