cb at sea Posted February 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2018 A guidebook on the Caribbean Ports will give you TONS of info...libraries have them in the reference section. In Panama, is this a partial transit, or do you only dock outside of the canal? If it's the latter, and you want to see the canal, you will need an excursion for that. If it's a partial, you really don't need to get off the ship...the transit itself is an "excursion", and while many will get off the ship in Lake Gatun, it leaves the ship less crowded...a great pool day, if you can stand the heat! It's HOT in Panama...and very humid! Since most of the excursions there are at least 6 hours, I wouldn't do that with a 2 year old!
Rare mom says Posted February 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2018 In addition to the Ports of Call forums, be sure to check out your Roll Call for ideas by your fellow cruisers on your sailing. Also, on the main forum page under Special Interest Cruising is a subforum on Family cruising. Another website that is helpful is TripAdvisor. Look under Things to Do for each of your ports.
