Free ice cream?

We're going on our first RC ship in a couple weeks. The Liberty of the Seas. Is there free ice cream at the buffet or will we need to get it in the MDR at meal time?

There are normally soft serve machines near the main pool deck (don't know specificly where on the liberty they are) if you consider that ice cream

The MDR has ice cream every night, and Windjammer has it at lunch and dinner sometimes.

We were on Liberty in December and there was ice cream in the windjammer every evening. Plus the soft serve on the pool deck. It seems like the kids always had an ice cream from somewhere.

The Windjammer has "real" ice cream at dinner, along with toppings.

As does the dining room on the dessert menu......the "soft serve" is frozen yogurt.

The line can back up a bit but there is real icecream in the windjammer every night. Some people take an extraordinary amount of time to choose a dessert.

Actually the soft serve is soft serve, not yogurt at sprinkles. Technically not "real" ice cream but it isn't yogurt. It isn't the super cheap icy soft serve either. It was fairly good and they have strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. Windjammer seemed to have 2 or 3 flavors each night with so many toppings to pick from. We never ordered ice cream in the dining room, though some of our desserts came with ice cream. It was available but no one in my family will pick just ice cream when there is cake or some other sugary confection.

The Strawberry on Liberty is pretty yummy!

I remember them having Bananas Foster once in the WJ at lunch with yummy vanilla ice cream. They let me have a big bowl of ice cream sans bananas. I never would have seen it but DS managed to ferret it out - it was way in the back.

No it's not. It's "frozen desert mix".

Whatever it is yogurt or frozen desert mix our family all really like the soft self serve ice cream from the machines on deck.

Think they may have changed the supplier in the last few years.

Thanks for the replies! A couple of my cruise buddies has ice cream or ice cream like substance before breakfast and many times during the day. We tease her about her addiction! But we're right there with her! Haha!
