E23NK1 Posted February 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2018 We will be on Oasis in April and have not purchased the drink package this year because my wife will never be able to drink enough to justify the cost...but I have read that Drink cards are usually offered at some point during the cruise. Are the rules the same for Drink Cards in that if I purchase one, I would have to purchase one for my wife too (because we are in the same cabin)?...I would think not but there seems to be alot more rules and changes recently that I may not be up to speed on. Thanks, Eric
Clarea Posted February 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2018 No requirement to purchase a card for your wife, and you can share the card with anyone you like.
E23NK1 Posted February 28, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Thank you Bob. Anyone on Oasis recently know what day these cards make their appearance?
Biker19 Posted February 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Day 3 or 4. Ask the bartenders as sometimes it's not advertised or obvious.
VaTech8912 Posted February 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2018 Ours came out Day 4 for $70 + 18% grats. (Sept 2017)
sjb317 Posted March 1, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Feb. 18, 2018 Oasis Cruise. Card was available on day 4. 10drinks for $79 plus 18% gratuity. Every bar had signs advertising it. Sherri:)
Merion_Mom Posted March 1, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 1, 2018 Look in your Cruise Compass that will be left on your bed on night#4 if you haven't seen them already.
cb at sea Posted March 2, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Bear in mind that if you are drinking drinks that cost LESS than $7-$7.90 per drink, you've wasted your money on a "card".
mpoole3 Posted March 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Anyone else seen the draft beer card? I've spotted it twice, but far less common. $49+18% for 10 draft beers (pub or pool deck only).
E23NK1 Posted March 2, 2018 Author #10 Share Posted March 2, 2018 I didn't realize that its $79 plus the 18% gratuity...so that brings it to $93.22 total ($9.32/drink) ...so its probably only a deal if you are ordering frozen drinks as opposed to a rum and coke for example...correct? Certainly a better deal if you are ordering frozen/blender/upper shelf drinks. Rum and Coke is probably around $9 before gratuity, so you would still save some money. Clarea Posted March 2, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Curious...whats an Italian Tea? Same as a Long Island Iced Tea, except the Amaretto replaces the Triple Sec and Lemon Soda replaces Coke.
Eslader Posted March 2, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Cruise the promenade in the evening on day 3. They sometimes do a "soft open" where they sell the cards but don't make announcements about it until day 4.

Clarea Posted March 2, 2018 #17 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Is it good? We like it. Sometime when we are cruising together, you will have to ask my wife how she likes it.

Thanks, Eric You can purchase your wife a refreshment package and a deluxe beverage package for yourself. However it appears that you are not able to do it on line so a phone call is needed. My gf really doesn't drink so getting two alcohol packages isn't worth it for us. (But one is worth it for me.)

Your calculations are correct, but if you order a drink without a package or drink card, 18% gratuity will be added. Therefore it still makes sense to compare a $7.90 drink price to what you see on a menu/think of as the price of a drink. Princess Ceil Posted March 4, 2018 #22 Share Posted March 4, 2018 Could you clarify this please? I was told that everyone in the cabin must purchase the deluxe drink package (my husband and myself). Are you saying as long as we purchase any refreshment package we can have for ex one deluxe package and one classic soda package?

Are you saying as long as we purchase any refreshment package we can have for ex one deluxe package and one classic soda package? People have reported here that IF YOU CALL, they will let you buy one Deluxe and one Refreshment instead of two Deluxes. (Refreshment is the name of a specific package, not a general term for beverage packages)

So definitely no beer or wine...but most anything else should be a good value then.
