Rare mitsugirly Posted March 22, 2018 Author #76 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Hi Kim- looking forward to following along when you post your review! We are just off Harmony, and Adventure Ocean will be open all day during port- they will feed the kids lunch and dinner and you don’t have to pay for it like on NCL. Their hours during sea days are 9-12, 2-5, 7-10 and then late night after 10 for I think $7/hour. The late night dining is as bad as others have said, so plan accordingly. Sorrento’s pizza is nasty, too. Room service is $7.95 and Johnny Rockets is just under $12 per person FYI. I found an article, by RC, about Johnny Rockets (although it's from 2015) that said they charge $6.95 for the meal and you can eat whatever you want (soda and shakes additional). So, I wonder if the price has actually gone up that much (to the $12pp you mentioned :o). It also gave a list of the ships that it's on and Jewel was not one of them (of course this is a few years old and it may have changed). Rare mitsugirly Posted March 22, 2018 Author #78 Share Posted March 22, 2018 It's $9.95 But is it on the Jewel? I can't find anything that states it is.

Arzeena Posted March 22, 2018 #81 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Kim, have a fantastic cruise! You must be almost packed and ready. I am SO looking forward to reading your new novella. Did Kendra get a cabin yet? Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
poohnpals Posted March 23, 2018 #82 Share Posted March 23, 2018 We got off track with talking about kids club info and I don't think I ever got a direct answer on this. Do I need to bring actual cash for the slots? Or do I use my room key, which charges my on board charges, for playing and keeps track of it separate from the actual room charges? You should bring cash or you will need to go to the ATM. CCL does make the casino easier. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

You can charge cash at the cashier cage for a fee.

Did Kendra get a cabin yet? Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Haha, I'm so busy and procrastinating these days. Sakari is the only one packed so far. She said she's more excited about this cruise than ever before (I think it's because we are cruising with Thrilled and kids again and she is going into this cruise actually knowing someone). Kendra has officially decided not to come. They are so busy working on their home and hoping to have it finished and moving in by next month. It's been a year project of completely gutting the house and rebuilding. She's super excited! You should bring cash or you will need to go to the ATM. CCL does make the casino easier. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk Well darnit. I was hoping you could use you room card like CCL and put it on the room charges. That way you get to charge the cc associated with your room, earn cash back, and not have to carry around a lot of cash to the cruise. Blah! Jewel's slots are cash and you insert your sea pass to track play. You can charge cash at the cashier cage for a fee. Well darnit! Not what I was wanting to hear. Does it spit out tickets for each machine when you are done playing too?
rorito Posted March 23, 2018 #86 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Yes, the slots use tickets. When you get cash at the cage, those charges go to your onboard account with your other charges but they do charge you a fee. The only way to have the fee waved is if you are a member of the players club, Club Royale which is by invitation only. If you spend time on the slots be sure to always insert your sea pass for points.
micmacmissy Posted March 23, 2018 #87 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Mitsugirly, can't wait for your review! We also booked the Pinel Island kayaks based on your review when we were in St. Maarten and it was a lot of fun. Hope you have a great trip - that is one heck of an itinerary, only one sea day! And lots of snorkeling for you! :) Can't wait for the review and the photos.

We spend a little time each night in the casino, but by no means are we big spenders. We usually only play about $500 per cruise so using our sea pass for points probably wouldn't be beneficial. Glad you enjoyed Pinel Island (and hopefully didn't walk away from there with Kendra's attitude about having to paddle the kayaks ;p). Another way to avoid the fee is to have a cash type onboard account. Yea, not really interested in doing that since you won't be able to use the cc for charges and earn cash back. :(
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 23, 2018 Author #90 Share Posted March 23, 2018 When I log in to RC's site, I always see a "Crown and Anchor Society #" Where do I get this number? Also, where do you go to print luggage tags?
Rare broberts Posted March 23, 2018 #91 Share Posted March 23, 2018 When I log in to RC's site, I always see a "Crown and Anchor Society #" Where do I get this number? Also, where do you go to print luggage tags? Easiest way is to call the Crown & Anchor team at 800-526-9723. If you have a number they can give it to you. If you don't, you can register. Clarea Posted March 23, 2018 #92 Share Posted March 23, 2018 ... Yea, not really interested in doing that since you won't be able to use the cc for charges and earn cash back. :( The trick is to start out with a cash account. Royal will let you charge up to $500 over any OBC you might have before they ask for any money. While you have a cash account, there is no fee for a cash advance at the casino. Once you are finished with your cash advances, go to Guest Services and switch to a credit card type account.
JinxyB Posted March 23, 2018 #93 Share Posted March 23, 2018 It's $9.95 Maybe very they have different charges on different ships, but on Harmony last week it was some obscure amount like $11.74 per person. On Anthem last year, it was a la carte.
Rare mitsugirly Posted March 27, 2018 Author #94 Share Posted March 27, 2018 So...let's talk wine now. It's my understanding that we will be able to bring 2 bottles (750). I'm not a wine drinker and have spent years trying to find something that suits my taste buds. I absolutely HATE beer and to me, wine has that bitter taste to it. Anyone who has read my reviews in the past probably get a kick out of my wine tasting adventures. HOWEVER...I have finally found a few things that I like and can tolerate. These items are what I would call "cheap wine". I have developed a taste for Arbor Mist Peach Moscato and also Castello del Poggio Moscato. Both super cheap wines, but work for me. So...these bottles are also the cheap "twist off" top and no cork. Explain this "corkage" fee to me. There's no "cork" to remove, so will I be able to take the bottle where ever and not have to worry about them removing the cork? I'm a newbie with this wine thing...;p
VaTech8912 Posted March 27, 2018 #95 Share Posted March 27, 2018 Cork or no cork, same rules apply. Wine brought aboard is for "in room" consumption. If you take the bottle out to dinner, you will be charged a corkage fee. However, you can always pour a glass in your room and carry out to dinner or wherever. Have a great cruise. Thanks for the info. Can you take the bottle up to a deck and hang out at night with it? I haven't acquired a taste for drinking it at dinner with a meal. I was just thinking about going somewhere up top and watching the stars. :D

We generally do as the other poster said and have a glass or two while getting ready for dinner and have carried a glass or two to dinner. Cheap wine is the way we roll... B&J_Pgh Posted March 27, 2018 #99 Share Posted March 27, 2018 It’s been a while since I’ve cruised on RCL too, but I thought the pizza was good before. I hope it’s not as bad as people are saying. It’s my fav late night snack. . . Just got of the Adventue and to each his own. However, I found it very similar to Papa Johns. Nothing like cardboard and ketchup. Rare mitsugirly Posted March 28, 2018 Author #100 Share Posted March 28, 2018 So...how do you pack bottles of wine for the suitcase to keep them from breaking on the flight? (I've seen those videos of the luggage people at the airport slinging that luggage around and sometimes destroying it). ;)
