Up to Date Info on Smoking Policy?

Don't they still allow smoking just outside the windows of the Café al Bacio, where the lifeboats are hanging? I saw crew and passengers smoking there on previous cruises.

On the S Class ships, per the Dailies I've seen, on Deck 5 the smoking area is port side. On S Class Cafe al Bacio is on the starboard side.

I've never seen smoking outside the Café al Bacio, nor ashtrays or or signs signs of smoking being allowed there. Port side yes, but not starboard. Dailies from my last two cruises confirm that.

It will be very refreshing to have the policies enforced as they were not on

our recent Coral Princess cruise. It was very upsetting to us and many other

passengers who were quite allergic and therefore not able to enjoy the public

areas.

Any yes, it was reported many times.

They will move the smoking on Deck 5 to the Starboard side if they are in port and taking on fuel from a barge on the port side. That's the only time I've seen it switched to the starboard side.

On one of my trips when they were refuelling on the port side they moved the smoking area temporarily to starboard i.e outside Cafe al Bacio

I guess we've never sat there while there was bunkering in progress. An understandable exception to the norm.

FYI, tobacco smoke is not an allergen, its an irritant. No doubt there are people who have high sensitivity to smoke but they're not allergic to it.

With all due respect, what difference does that make? You obviously don't suffer from a high sensitivity to cigarette smoke to make such a snarky comment.:(

Agree. I am very allergic (sensitive?? ) to cigarette smoke. Whichever it is, my lungs start to feel as if they are shutting down after a few minutes. So who cares is I am allergic or sensitive if the end result is the same. I had scratch tests years ago and was told I am allergic. My sisters love the Atlantic City casinos but I can't meet them there because of the smoke.

Not snarky at all. I dont smoke cigarettes btw. Just pointing out fact. Tobacco smoke is not an allergen. People keep saying they're allergic to it, they're not. Does it bother some people? Absolutely. Is second hand smoke bad for people? Unquestionably. But they're not allergic to it.
