Is anthem just more expensive then other ships. I payed 5200 with the ksf promo for a jr suite 9 night cruise. (I thought I got a good deal).

Just priced again .

Jr Suite $14,144

Grand suite 1 br-$18,745

Grand Loft suite $26,545

I don't know, but I've got to find out where you guys shop.

Would like to try and get the full suite benefits one day, but at these prices forget it.

Maybe they didn't include the discount for balcony's & suites. Lol

This is just ridiculous, again we just booked an 11 night cruise on Celebrity over Thanksgiving 2019 in a sky suite1 / JR suite for 8000.00 with tips, internet, drink packages and 300.00 OBC plus suite dinning room/ Luminae and Michael’s club/ suite lounge, open all day offering drinks, bottled water and sodas, & a butler... Royal has gotten ridiculous on most cruises. Why are they so over priced for their suites??? Unless you have STAR class on one of the bigger ships it is not worth it IMHO! We did a 15 NT Mediterranean /TA from Italy in a Penthouse suite for less than 26,000.00 with business class air fare on the Silhouette. OUCH

Presume you're on the Nov 18th Carib cruise - today Sky Suite for 2 is $7300 with 4 perks. Everything much depends on when you are cruising and to where & when you book. We have back to back Aqua on X in 2019, ttl for 20 days is about $14K. Booked 10 day N.England on RCL grand suite this year for under $5k - all depends on timing and availability. Best thing you can do is book something which you consider a fair deal and don't look back.

The suites we got, we had to either inquire directly or go through an agent. They do not show on the website. Some of the pricing is worse than the stock market before an election going up and down. There are cruise specialists that claim the can get a better price.

Actually you are comparing apples to oranges here.

First of all the GS is not 10K more than the JS, it´s 4601 more. You simply can´t compare the price you paid at some point for the JS to todays price of the GS. In addition this is for four people, so the GS is roughly 1150 more per person. Not too bad of a difference IMO (putting aside the high price for the JS to begin with).

The other major difference in your comparison is comparing a 2 person booking (as you booked your JS under KSF) with a 4 person booking. In regards to pricing you actually added 2 people to the booking and thus doubled the number of persons to pay for.

True to a point, book what you think is fare, but keep checking for a price drop. Nine times out of ten I can save a few grand by checking pricing. Our Vision of the seas cruise we got the royal suite for less than a JR suite under 3600.for two. Also holiday cruises are usually way over inflated RCCL was charging over 10 grand for a grand suite during the same time frame, with less days and no perks. If you don’t shop around you are crazy to pay some of these prices that Royal is asking. We will only book Royal now if we can get an extreme deal for a suite.

Last month I booked a September 2018 cruise on Harmony with the KSF promotion. My wife and I are sailing with our 2 and 4 year old in a Grand Suite for $4,700 total including trip insurance (with a $100 on board credit). Last year at the same time I paid $4,100 total for a JS guarantee and we were upgraded free of charge to a Grand Suite.

I finally got the statement for our cruise (which is a pain in the **** to read). There are five of us going and we are staying in a 2BR Amphitheater which sleeps 8. We were charged full boat (pardon the pun) it appears we got a 30% discount of all the fares for some reason. The first two passsengers are the expensive two. The additional guests are going for around $600 net each.

Obviously you should pick another ship.

2 months ago I booked a 7 day cruise on the Allure for this September and got an OWNER'S SUITE for $2000.pp

The JS were going for $1250.pp

Never had an owner's suite before :O)

A few years ago cruising was a great deal. I remember trips that I paid $1800 for a 10 night cruise from NJ on ExOS which included port fees taxes and grats in a balcony (corner aft on 7) for two. Short trips for less than $50 per per person per night.

As the economy has improved, prices are rising. This past December we actually opted for an AI because the price was almost $1k less (factoring in drink prices) that we would have paid for a comparable cruise.

We are 5 nights from diamond and I'm not sure if we will make it anytime soon because I am only willing to pay so much for a trip ;) .

I think the days of super cheap cruises are numbered :( .

Sorry, but what is the "KSF" promo?

We don’t usually book onboard, but last November - on Black Friday - we booked a JS on Oasis for this October for 1,800 for both including trip insurance and 200 OBC.

Sweet (suite) deal! Black Friday has become a good time to book. We've also snagged some good suite deals in January for cruises the following fall...i.e. booking January 2017 for October 2019 - especially for southern Caribbean itineraries. Two falls in a row we've gotten GSs for $1600-$1900pp.

Our TA, who is also our friend, thought that deal was so good, she had me go book one for them too!

This is very true. We booked in February for october 2019 and paid $1700ish/person for a 2 bedroom grand suite (plus $400 OBC from travel agent and $200 OBC from RCI).

I just booked a Panoramic Oceanview on Voyager for March 2020 (10 night South Pacific) for $4598 AUD and after reading this thread thought I'd check out the suites for comparison. My only reaction is ***?

All prices in Aussie Dollars for 2.

Junior $6912 to $7320

Grand 1Bd $9942

Owners $12360

Panoramic Suite $18252

Grand 2Bd $33936

Don't see the value of the perks at these prices. Think I'll stick to Balcony or Panoramic if available.

Suite deals can be had although in my experience I haven't found them to work out for me often. We recently found one for the Allure that I couldn't pass up. $3200 for a Grand Suite for the week. We've never booked a suite before so we couldn't be more excited for this opportunity. The only catch is it's in October which is of course hurricane season. :( We have stayed in a suite one other time. We actually won the grand prize in bingo our second day on board and it was the rest of the cruise in a crown loft suite. What a simply amazing experience.
