More fake service dog nonsense

Recommended Posts

Well the last two posts epitomized what so much of CC is all about.

Redsoxfan you put it so well. Unfortunately the mods don't seem prepared to move off-topic stuff to the floataway lounge and the know-alls just say move on if you don't like a thread

I was watching a thread a few months ago which kept wandering off-topic and when i commented on that had a smart a** comment suggesting I move on

And onecruiser - if you enjoy that stuff good for you but that doesn't mean we all want it. Its supposed to be a forum about RC after all

Sure thing Bud... Like said after 30+ years on Royal, 20+ years on here seen/heard it all on here. Looks like every question does get answered, that's the important thing...

I vote for more Bella photos.

Live 15 miles south and never on the same cruise.

:-)

Dog did defecate on the EN in the casino when it was in PC.

I knew the smell and got up to go tell CS, when I saw the cordoned off area near the ladies restroom.

Are you sure it was a dog?

Bella is so cute, I find it hard to believe anyone could not love her and we love to see her photos.

Our family dog died a few years ago

We lost our beloved Pug this past February. Once our other dog Penny goes, no more dogs for us.

Sorry about your dog.

The Queen Mary 2 is used as a cruise ship most of the year, and as an ocean liner part of the year. As I said, the line between the two is very blurry.
Apparently she is built as a liner. I think her bow is to short for the definition

Like you said, I missed that one.

I have seen the poop box on Enchantment, muster station 1. I think.

Interesting topic. Read many times she is by definition an Ocean Liner, and the only one still in service... "An ocean liner is a passenger ship primarily used as a form of transportation across seas or oceans. Ocean liners are usually strongly built with a high freeboard to withstand rough seas and adverse conditions encountered in the open ocean. Additionally, they are often designed with thicker hull plating than is found on cruise ships, and have large capacities for fuel, food and other consumables on long voyages. RMS Queen Mary 2 is the only ship still in service as an ocean liner"

Bobal - Your post is a little confusing. The post before your has a picture of a dog. The post before that encourages more dog photos. Yet you say Redsoxfan put it so well. Redsoxfan does not want to see dog photos.

So which is it???

Where did I say I didn't want to see dog photos?

You have the ability to block posters that you find problematic.

Not sure I posted a pic from balcony on this thread, but if you say so.

Posted dog pics, because this is a thread about dogs.

Welcome back to the fold

I'm well aware that I can block a poster and have done so. Where did I say you posted a pic from a balcony?

My post was about threads going off topic and sharing a place to have threads to share pictures and conversation. How about a Friends of Bella thread in Friends of Cruise Critic. Oh....but like your friend Grapau said "I post on a couple of floataway lounge threads which are always pleasant.

Incidentally your post count does not increase with posts on floataway lounge threads."

I believe you edited it out. Nice try

I'm sorry to say nothing RCCL can do about this. The federal law in the United States is very clear. The cruise line or business cannot even ask the reason for the animal. It is not just Cruise lines same thing happens on Airplanes. I have a friend here, another American, who loves Standard Poodles, comes from a very wealthy New York Family. No health or mental issues, but plays the system. His dogs travel on the Airplane with him in the cabin.

He purchased a new puppy two years ago, from the top breeder in North America, but had the correct paperwork saying it was a service dog. Which here in the Philippines means go to the doctor pay a office fee and get the letter. With this letter he was able to travel with the dog in the cabin for the flight and no one could question anything.

not true, they have to let service dogs on but comfort dogs are not by law mandated to be let in anywhere except planes. a service dog is a dog that has been trained to do a task, such as seeing eye, or a seizure dog. comfort is not a task. if it was trained to perform a task because of PSTD like pull its owner out of a crowd then its a service dog.

just because you feel better with the dog there does not make it a service dog, and real service dogs are trained to behave and work, not be petted

I've never seen any of those things.

And again, I am not advocating bringing a dog on the ship.

I really don't see how I've become the poster child of bringing dogs onboard

I'm just reiterating what has been in this thread

Baloney 90% of dogs let on have fake papers and outfits that are bought online because our seniors feel entitled to whatever they can get away with

Just the way of the world today

The rules don’t apply to me!!!

To be fair, any dog “with papers” to prove they are a service dog are FAKE PAPERS because there is no certifying agency and no certification required or suggested or offered (other than scams) in the US.

Another one that knows nothing about the subject.

I agree with “No Pets”.

But dogs can do way more than lead the blind, they can detect seizures, they can hear, they can pick things up, they can pull wheelchairs, shall I go on with tasks they can do.

I'm pretty well adjusted and I put an outfit on Bell every now and then.

Especially during football season.

Oh no, I'm feeling the need to draw attention to myself again.

I think I’m the one who mentioned you and balconies.

In one of your posts you mentioned that some people like pictures of your dog, some off your balcony, some something else... and I referenced back to that in my post.

But I don’t really get your obsession with trying to pin Red Sox Fab 42 down to an admission.

Who the hell really cares.

Apparently he does.

And just so you know, my balcony faces the Atlantic Ocean about 5 miles south of Port Canaveral, one of Royals cruise ports.

I post pics of weather conditions, sailaways, and sometimes rocket launches.

These are things many people seem to be interested in.

I'm really quite the helpful guy.

Actually, I'm pretty sure float away and roll calls add to your post count now. They didn't use to.
