kernie968 Posted April 21, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Just got a text and two phone calls telling us that check in will not start until 12PM. The ship was supposed to be arriving empty so why would they delay check in until 12PM? I thought we would be getting on early!
romalley99 Posted April 21, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Just got a text and two phone calls telling us that check in will not start until 12PM. The ship was supposed to be arriving empty so why would they delay check in until 12PM? I thought we would be getting on early! They have been going full speed. My guess is currents are delaying just a bit. Don’t worry! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Rare shof515 Posted April 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Right now, the Escape is off the coast of North Carolina approaching Virginia doing about 20 knots Earlier she was doing about 22-24 knots, the ship did slow down for some random reason. Rare mking8288 Posted April 22, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 22, 2018 Running into a weather front, it seemed ... off the eastern shore of MD, near Ocean City, with head wind now, doing about 20 knots. It doesn't look like they will get into NYC till 10 am or latet. Wind will shift as they cross into NJ and catch a tailwind from the stern / AFT instead - could be helpful with a little speed ... from rough calculations, the Escape won't arrive any earlier than 9 or 10 AM in the morning, from the AIS tracking data given. via dual sim QISKIW-L24 using AT&T or T-Mo on Tapatalk

Probably going through a security clearance of some kind or inspections. This is likely to happen from time to time, especially considering they are just arriving in NYC>

Mike A Posted April 22, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 22, 2018 The good news is the ship is dead heading (no passengers). Therefore, embarkation can start shortly after the ship docks. Welcome to New York Escape. Currently just east of Sandy Hook. Will approach Ambrose tower shortly. Sent from my iPad using Forums

bob brown Posted April 22, 2018 #23 Share Posted April 22, 2018 I love the view from the ship's bridgecam better than the Breakaway's view....you can even see a sliver of the forward portion of the bridge at the left edge of the screen....
