No Royal Caribbean ships in South America?

Recommended Posts

I know there were ships there some years ago. I'm just beginning to research future cruise possibilities and South America is on the short list.

What happened to the RCCI ships that used to do South America?

I believed they pulled them about three years ago. They probably weren't doing enough business for them to keep sending the ships there.

Their sister ship Celebrity does go there from Los Angeles and San Diego to Argentina and Chile.

Yes. Friends of ours just did the around-the-horn cruise with their three kids on NCL. It sounded great so I looked into similar cruise with our son - it looked like HAL, NCL, and Celebrity all did this cruise over Christmas. Would love to see RCI do one of these as a long holiday cruise [emoji6]

RCCL did this several years ago. The trip around the horn did not sell well.

I remember these - they had two sailings in Feb., which is not doable for those of us with kids in school...lol. I would love to see something like this over Christmas break. A longer exotic holiday cruise...

We did Rhapsody for 7 days out of Santos (Sao Paolo) to Argentina and Uruguay almost exactly 4 years ago. It was fine. Overwhelmingly filled with Brazilians as you might expect. Ship was full. Destinations were great but it is a long way to go if we didn't extend vaca on land. Royal didn't offer anything longer than 7 days at the time. To me the 7 day max seemed like a partial commitment to SA. And now they have no commitment it seems.
