Rare trbarton Posted May 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 4, 2018 If I make an excursion reservation using my OBC what’s happens I cancel within the cancellation time? Has anyone done this & if so what happened? Thanks! Tom😎
Thrak Posted May 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Haven't done this but the only thing that makes sense is that they would reinstate the OBC to your account.
fishywood Posted May 4, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 4, 2018 If cancelling before the pre-boarding deadline (five days before your cruise) through the Cruise Personalizer, it simply removes the reservation and the charges against your OBC are adjusted accordingly. Under the 'Payments and Credits' tab there is a section 'Shore Excursion Reservations' which shows your total cost of excursions reserved. If that is less than your total OBC (meaning you have made no cash payments towards excursions) that number would simply go down as if you had never reserved the excursion in the first place, giving you a higher net remaining OBC to spend onboard (or towards a different excursion). If cancelling after boarding but before the deadline (usually the afternoon of two days before the port call) the person named on the ticket will receive OBC for that amount. no matter the original form of payment--or if a different member of your party made that payment If a pre-paid shore excursion [...] is cancelled during the voyage prior to the "Closing Time for Cancellation" listed for the particular excursion you wish to cancel, then the pre-paid amount will be refunded to the guest named on the pre-paid reservation as a shipboard credit on this guest's shipboard folio. Please note this is done regardless of which guest pre-paid for the shore excursion. satxdiver Posted May 4, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 4, 2018 Whether you pay by credit card or OBC for a ship excursion prior to boarding or even pay once on board, if you cancel by the deadline usually two days prior, the money or OBC will be returned to your folio. If you paid for the now canceled excursion and don't use it for other expenses, it will be returned to you. In the case of OBC, most of which is not refundable, the OBC will have to be used for some other expense while onboard.
paul929207 Posted May 4, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 4, 2018 I did that recently and the money returned to the OBC pot for the cruise.
