I just wanted to clarify something that HawklVette said. Final payment doesn't have anything to do with it. If you want to add a gift card to your onboard S&S account, the only way to do that is on board, either at Guest Services or one of the kiosks. Another option is to buy Cruise Cash prior to your cruise from the online FunShops. Cruise Cash is different in that is will be applied to your S&S account and waiting for you when you get on board. But it's non-refundable, use it or lose it (unless you know how to cash out in the casino).

 

Big thanks to both bobandsherry & organized chaos! I never thought of using the giftcard to buy cruise cash, that is exactly what I was looking for since we're already paid in full and all other expenses paid, I just wanted some extra spending $$ on our account.

 

Thank you to the OP as well, I missed out on the special last week!

About how long after placing the order was the email received with the ecards? The ebay confirmation email states it to be several hours after receipt of the order.

I got mine 10 minutes later after the confirmation from paypal went through per email time stamp.

Ok, thanks for that...How about an alert from PayPal suggesting a "suspicious" purchase requiring an authorization? I'll give it a few.....love these "deals", but can't be too careful having read about folks having unknowingly purchased fraudulant cards in the past...

Well, I just flat give up! I've called PayPal, my bank, my credit card companies, eBay customer service. PayPal says there's an internal error on their part and that's the reason I can't purchase the cards. Been a very frustrating experience. I've done everything I can do at this point, so guess it just wasn't meant for me to get this great discount!

This is the first time I've used ebay or paypal in years, in general the customer no service is horrible. My wife set an account up last night and took until today before she could purchase any. In your case I'd try a different card.

I got mine this morning. It took 5 minutes total, and maybe another 10 minutes to receive the cards via email. A quick way to save $45 on money we were going to spend anyways. Great deal. Even better than the deal we took advantage of at Kroger over the weekend when they were allowing you to buy $100 Carnival cards for $90.

I have tried changing cards, clearing cache....even set up a brand new PayPal account just to see if there was a problem with my original....all with the same result....not able to purchase using PayPal (unfortunately using a regular credit card is not an option on the screen I am seeing).

 

Oh well, I'll keep trying every once and awhile until they run out.

Can I make a payment directly to Carnival (or online) if I booked my cruise through an online TA?

So frustrated. I have been trying for 30 minutes and it won't accept my Paypal account for some reason.

 

You're not the only one. It keeps telling me to contact PayPal customer service. I can log in, but it will process me logging in and say it isn't accepted.

I called paypal and they won't allow the purchase through them as being tagged as suspicious. Guess I am out of luck!

Hmmmm...PayPal sent me a txt msg stating the purchase as marked suspicious..but to reply yes I authorized it or no. Replied yes, I have all 3 gc's and verified balance.
