DrivesLikeMario Posted May 13, 2018 #26 Share Posted May 13, 2018 You have to really watch the taxi drivers in FLL. Two times recently, we were told the fare was $24 due to the airport fee and the bag fee (we had 3 bags). Ridiculous. Even the stevedores were on our side when we argued the last time with the driver. Next time, we'll do an Uber there.

floridalover5623 Posted May 13, 2018 #28 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Princess always charges more than any competition in hopes that people won't take the time to check it out prices. Same thing holds for any of the tours. Occasionally there won't be others to compete with, but in this case it's just to easy to bypass Princes transportation. KevintheIrishDJ Posted May 13, 2018 #29 Share Posted May 13, 2018 I just rented a car from Enterprise for $33. The drop off point is the Hilton Marina at the end of Terminal 2. I dropped off my DW and the bags and walked to the ship.
pablo222 Posted May 13, 2018 #30 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Yes, which works great if you have data service on your phone. Being from out of country, we don't have such when we arrive in USA thus we take a cab (although we also don't have the option to fly into FLL! Lol) "FLL Airport offers free internet access throughout its terminals & concourses, as well as at the Rental Car Center " https://www.ifly.com/fort-lauderdale-hollywood-international-airport/internet-wifi Port Everglades has free wifi as well. Mapu Posted May 13, 2018 #31 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Check out renting a car one way. Airport to port. I did this a few years ago and cost under $40. Car rental agencies that serve Port Everglades and the Ft. Lauderdale airport are in the same location and are actually between the two locations. Renting a car is not an option. Taxi, Uber, Lyft are all options.
pablo222 Posted May 13, 2018 #32 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Car rental agencies that serve Port Everglades and the Ft. Lauderdale airport are in the same location and are actually between the two locations. Most of the on-airport rental agencies have moved into 1/2 of the cypress garage, adjacent to Terminal 1. If you do need to rent a car, it's one of the most convenient for larger airports.
Rare Hlitner Posted May 13, 2018 #33 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Check out renting a car one way. Airport to port. I did this a few years ago and cost under $40. And just where would you drop the car at Port Everglades? From FLL to Port Everglades is about $16 for a taxi and less for Uber and Lyft (this has already been mentioned). From FLL to the Port of Miami is about $40 for an Uber X car and approximately the same via Lyft. Renting cars at Port Everglades generally means getting a shuttle (free with Alamo....but many other companies charge a fee) to the Rental Car Center at FLL. When we have had rental cars (we do this because we often drive to Key West before or after cruises) we normally drop the car at FLL and use a shuttle bus to the port. The Port of Miami is somewhat different because the port is located quite a bit further from the local airport (MIA). If dropping a rental car for the Port of Miami we sometimes arrange to drop it at a nearby agency office located in nearby Miami...and then either get shuttled or have to grab a taxi to the port. pablo222 Posted May 13, 2018 #34 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Check out renting a car one way. Airport to port. I did this a few years ago and cost under $40. The time spent dragging your bags to the rental car counter, waiting in line, getting the car and getting on the road will be way more than the total trip time for cab/uber/lyft to the port. Are you going to fill the car up with gas before you return it?
Rare TracieABD Posted May 13, 2018 #35 Share Posted May 13, 2018 Uber. Easy. Cheap. Immediate. Door to door. Good luck!
rideev Posted May 13, 2018 #36 Share Posted May 13, 2018 We have used John's Car Service many times and love it. Usually go from FLL to Miami Cruiseport, but we think it is a fair price, and great service! Clean car, they pick you up. No waiting in a line or the hot sun. Love us some John's Car Service.
