Using NON-REFUNDABLE OBC in the casino

The current scheme is to issue you promotional chips for your non-refundable OBC. I can't speak to texas holdem, but here's how it works at the other table games. You bet promotional chips (let's say $10). If you lose, they take the promotional chips. If you win, they pay you with real chips and you keep the promotional chips to bet on the next deal. Over a period of an hour, you win some and lose some....essentially, every time you lose, they take the promotional chips and every time you win, you are paid with real chips.

As it turned out, Texas hold 'em tournaments were cash only. All types of OBC cannot be used for Texas hold 'em - refundable and not refundable.

If he wanted to play, it was sent to our bill and OBC could NOT be applied. So he played once. Our unused refundable OBC was credited to our credit card a few days after we returned home.

Stupid policy for X. If they had allowed him to use the OBC, he would have played more. Instead, X refunded it to us.

If your objective is to convert your Non-refundable credit into hard cash the easiest way is on the Roulette table. Just place equal bets on RED and BLACK, you have odds of 18:1 of either red or black winning. Your winnings are CASH chips, put them aside, continue the same plan - odds are in your favour then cash out your chips.

Very strange since you can use OBC for the entry fee for blackjack tournaments.

Odd, on both Summit and Infinity I was able to use OBC towards entering Texas Hold 'em tournaments.

Maybe it's changed - this was on the May 20 departure of the Eclipse. I did NOT misunderstand and I DID question it.

We’ve done this both with non refundable OBC and with the free bet coupons we get with our status. Just have to hope the ball doesn’t end up on zero.

Don’t forget the American Roulette wheel has 0 and 00 that’s why the odds are reduced from 36:1 to 18:1

On a Roulette wheel with no zeros, the odds are 50% you'll win or lose. When you add the 2 zeros, your odds of winning go down to 47.36%. If you always bet on black AND red on the same spin, ignoring the zeros, you will walk away with hard cash of 50% of your buy, because they will pay you with a promotional chip and a real chip for the winnings, not 2 real chps.

No longer available as of May 20. Use to be able to get cash in Casino for unused obc. Celebrity stopped this.

I’m not clear as to what stopped on May 20. Can you still generally use OBC (refundable and/or nonrefundable) in the casino for slots, blackjack, etc.??

If your objective is to convert OBC to cash at the roulette wheel, you will even our your return by also betting on 0 & 00 [American wheel] or 0 [European wheel].

Assuming an American wheel and a $10 minimum bet, use your OBC to get $190 in promo chips and bet $90 on RED, $90 on BLACK and $10 on GREEN [the line between 0 and 00]

If GREEN wins, you get back $10 promo and $170 regular chips - pocket the $170 for a later cash out and bet the remaining $10 on RED or BLACK - pocketing any wins until you lose the final promo chip.

If RED or BLACK wins on the initial spin, you get back $90 promo and $90 regular chips to pocket. On the next spin of the wheel bet $10 on GREEN and $45 on RED and $45 on BLACK. IF RED or BLACK wins, pocket the regular chips and continue to put $10 promo on GREEN and split the remaining promos on RED and BLACK.

Yes, but you do not receive cash for the OBC, you receive promotional chips - you have to gamble them until you lose. Any winnings are paid in cash, but you have to keep gambling the promotional chips until you lose them.

EXCEPT Texas Hold'em - No version of OBC can be used for entrance fees into those tournaments.

May 20, 2018 departure from Dublin on the Eclipse.

Don't doubt that was the case but for now until we have more cases reported I'll consider that an anomaly. I've always been able to use OBN for Hold 'Em tournament entry fees and assume most of the time I still will.

And if not, really not a big deal to me either way....
