cruiser20145 Posted June 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 11, 2018 What would you choose? I can't afford the balcony on the 7 Day. The 5 Day is on the Valor, going to Progresso and Cozumel. The 7 Day is on the Freedom going to Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan. With airfare, they are $28 different. What would you choose? Edit: There are no interiors with Walkway on the 7 Day left... RHilla619 Posted June 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I'd probably go with the 7 day cruise, and extra 2 nights onboard would outweigh the balcony for me.

I would go with the 7 day, and try to get an interior on the Lido deck. We used to get balconies all the time, then we tried an interior on the Lido and haven’t looked back—-we don’t even miss the balcony. Although everyone’s preference is different. smurfm69 Posted June 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 11, 2018 The 7 day! Two extra days on a cruise ship plus better ports.

septemberbabycruising Posted June 11, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 11, 2018 another vote for the 7 day! The ports are better...and two extra days/nights on the boat = winning!
BookDragon Posted June 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted June 11, 2018 I’ll be the odd man out :). I chose a 5 day with balcony because I wanted my husband and I to have the experiences of wine & stargazing on the balcony whenever we felt like it. Also, this is our first cruise and first time away from our kids. I kind of felt a 5 day with a day in a hotel the night before (6 days total) would be a nice intro to cruising without being away from the kids for too long. If we like it, I’m sure we will do a 7 day next.
jsglow Posted June 11, 2018 #9 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Sleep and shower in your room. I'd certainly go 7. Any chance you can make an OV work?
beachbum6264 Posted June 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted June 11, 2018 There's no question for me... 7 days and much better ports wins, hands down. We don't spend enough time in the cabin to make a balcony a must.
firemanbobswife Posted June 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Definitely the 7 day. I used to always have to have a balcony then I went to OV, and now interiors. I would rather cruise more often and when I had a balcony on Vista I was out on it maybe 2-3 times tops. I don't stay in my cabin that much no matter what kind it is. cruisinqt Posted June 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted June 11, 2018 Even though I’m addicted to balconies, I would say book the 7 day cruise. More ports, longer vacation is the way to go. And just keep watching the prices and if they go down you may get a balcony for what you’re paying now. On one cruise I kept watching cruise fares daily and ours dropped. I went from an inside to a balcony for only $30 more. :D It really pays off to watch the price.
watermelonqueen99 Posted June 12, 2018 #13 Share Posted June 12, 2018 7 day for sure. I can't think of anything that would make me choose a 5 day over a 7 day.

jasong38501 Posted June 12, 2018 #16 Share Posted June 12, 2018 I'll add my vote for the seven day even though I think it's quite obvious what most of us would choose by now, lol. I just don't spend enough time in my room to justify giving up two days for a balcony.

Jandex Posted June 12, 2018 #21 Share Posted June 12, 2018 Definitely the 7 day. I am a definite balcony fan, however am booked in an interior for the first time next month - it was that or no cruise... I know which choice I prefer [emoji1] Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Micahs Grandad Posted June 12, 2018 #24 Share Posted June 12, 2018 7 days with interior for sure. Much rather cruise more often by paying less for interior. The last few times in a balcony surprised how little time we spent out there and how much time out and about.

And besides, you have never cruised before, so it is kinda tough to give an honest opinion of the comparison of a 5 day balcony versus a 7 day interior. Hopefully you'll enjoy those 5 days with your DH so that you'll book a longer one next time.
