suite perks

Recommended Posts

JUST CURIOUS...I keep reading how GS and above get free room service, but I am fresh off Symphony of the Seas and was in a GS. I was told GS DO NOT get free room service...ONLY "STAR" Guests have that perk.

Was it not listed in the Welcome letter you received when you boarded where they list all the suite perks?

Was this the specialty restaurants they were referring to? That is a Star Class only perk. But all suites can order MDR/ room service menu to the room with no charge

We were in a GS and charged room service fee every time we ordered from the room service menu ... we were told it is not free for GS guests.

A big benefit, as was mentioned in the letter from the concierge, is priority disembarkation. We were on Harmony last year and saved a ton of time. The concierge escorts small groups of passengers down to customs and immigration, bypassing the long lines.

Suite guests still receive Luggage Valet services complimentary?

I have a question about this. We have been in a GS twice on Allure and a CL suite on Harmony.

When we were in the GS we were never told about this. Only this last time when we were in the CL were we told about this by our room stewards.

Is this something that is only offered to suites on the 17th floor, or is this supposed to be for any suite?

We used it for our one large bag and one of our carry-ones. It worked like a charm and we would love to use that again if we stay in a GS. Just wanted to make sure that was a perk that was offered to GS guests. If so, it irks me that we were not made aware of it before!

Supposed to be any suite, GS or better.

It's for all GS or higher but for some reason, I've also heard from others that they don't make it well known. We experienced the same thing on Harmony last August. We had to go asking for it, not the other way around. I do love that program though. So convenient.

Ordering from MDR menu is free for GS. Ordering from any other restaurant induces the fee.

Thanks Bob and Lovetocruise2002 for answering my question.

I have another question for you. On this last cruise in the CL the stateroom attendants asked us on the first evening if we needed any of our clothes pressed for formal night. We did send our son’s pants to be pressed. We had never been offered this service when we were in the GS.

Is this another perk that they don’t make to be known too well?

We didn’t order from ANY restaurant nor from MDR. We only ordered from Room Service Menu and charged 7.95 every time. Guest Services and Room Dervice Dept BOTH told us room service was free for STAR Class not SKY or Grand Suites.

Correct, you get free pressing of one garment (per person) for the first formal night.

That is another perk for all GS and above guests. However, it seems that some room attendants are better than others at informing their guests.

The first time we were in a GS, we did not know about the perk either and it was our room attendant who explained it to us. Others have told me that they were in a GS and had to "argue" with their room attendant about the perk as it seems that they (the room attendants) are not all well informed.

The more I cruise, the more I realize that doing your research ahead of time and being informed is huge so that you don't miss out on things because not everyone who works for Royal is well informed. That's why forums like this are great because there is so much knowledge and experience here. Case in point with the OP's original post about being charged a room service fee. BTW, OP, I agree with Ourusualbeach, I would contact the post cruise team as well to get clarification.

Ooops also forgot to mention the pillow menu.

In my last gs cruise, I forgot about that. We were never offered this. But we did have 6 pillows on our bed. So between me and dh we found pillows to our liking

I just went through my "Royal Suite Class" folder that was left in our room. There is no reference to FREE ROOM SERVICE..there is however a ROOM SERVICE MENU included in the folder that states there is a 7.95 charge for delivery with 18% gratuity added to bill. I also went back to check my Welcome Letter from the Concierges Raj and Raul, there again is NO MENTION of free room service and also just noticed NO MENTION of being able to order from MDR Menu.

We did have the 6 pillows and were not given the option to choose either. I LOVED them anyway and I slept like a baby
