Variation of the casino cash--buying chips?

It would be worth it to me to pay the 3% fee to buy casino chips and then waiting a bit and cashing them in. Has anyone tried this? I have had some flak with doing this through the slot machines, hitting limits, getting warned, and I would rather not have this on my vacation. Because of the 3% fee, do they care less if you buy the chips and ultimately redeem them with little or minimal play at the tables? I think the chips can be bought and charged to the S&S card right at the cashier? (I am looking to do this to use up credits and gift cards.)

I hate the idea of paying them ANY percentage to get my own money. Simply don't put more on your account than you know you will spend!

I think you missed the reason for the question...

They will tell you to go buy chips at the table, not at the cashier, although I don't know what they would say if you insist on buying from the cashier. Do it all in one transaction up to $2,999. They do record the number of $25/$100 chips you walk away with and how many you cash in at the cashier. Feel free to buy the chips, sit there a minute, then say something like, "is there a problem if I go eat real quick and use these later?" Of course, you just take your chips and leave.

Leave and come back later to the cashier and cash them in.

Hi

If you buy chips you can cash them in anytime you want, as often as you want. I don't understand why you would be willing to pay 3% to do this.

It sounds like you have gone through this before. You seem to understand what they are willing to allow you when trying to cash your credits in through the slot machines. I would imagine that it would just require a bit of patience if you are talking about a large sum, but if you are willing to pay the 3%, go ahead buy chips keep them for a day or two and cash them in. I gather you don't want to play.

have a great cruise

Because the 3% is cheaper than a cash advance on a credit card (for people who don’t have the actual cash)... they can basically get a “cash advance” on a credit card, it gets charged like a regular transaction and they can pay it off later with credit card payments.

Wow, think you need a little finance 101. Why would you take a cash advance at 20% if you don't have any money. I would say "people who do not have actual cash" should not be borrowing money to gamble. If you need an ATM to gamble I have a phone number you might want to call.

Hi

While I understand what you are saying, I am just wondering what you are referring to. The OP says that he/she is looking for ways to cash in a large amount of OBC and gift cards. There is no suggestion of borrowing money
