cruizers Posted July 1, 2018 #28 Share Posted July 1, 2018 I use to be able to get Senior and Resident rates quite often when it got closer to a cruise. Since the non-refundable rates started I haven seen any become available. Has anyone else come across them recently? I have not seen either for quite some time. nelblu Posted July 1, 2018 #31 Share Posted July 1, 2018 Yes, on the screen after you pick a cabin. Then the 46% discount per rather than the standard 50% off 2nd Pax for the Symphony sail must be due to RCL's math as Biker indicated.
ONECRUISER Posted July 1, 2018 #32 Share Posted July 1, 2018 (edited) Hard to find but got Resident rate few months ago, Michigan. Got Great Military rate last month, was over $500 off a Balcony Cabin... Edited July 1, 2018 by ONECRUISER
kdakda Posted July 1, 2018 #33 Share Posted July 1, 2018 We're booked on the Oct 27, 2018 Harmony of the Seas cruise in a large oceanview balcony. When I check the current price (non-refundable deposit), it's showing a $263 senior discount, in addition to the flash sale. So the overall price is approximately $150 less than we paid, but we booked last year while on-board, and got a $275 OBC, so we still got a better deal. Call Royal you will be able to get the better price and still keep the OBC. I'v done it many times. As long as it's before final payment date, which your cruise is. If any of that was from the then current promotion, that would be lost, wouldn’t it?

Hey Gail, Do you book online or on the ship for the OBC, and then call Casino Royale?
ravensfan52 Posted July 2, 2018 #44 Share Posted July 2, 2018 Just checked my parents booking and got them a $-200 discount for SC resident rate. I also got our booking a $75 rate drop (not sure why), but it doesn't hurt to call and ask!!
Biker19 Posted July 2, 2018 #45 Share Posted July 2, 2018 This is new to me .I never heard of senior rates or resident rates. There are also special rates for law enforcement and military - they are becoming just as rare as the other two.
BallofGoof Posted July 2, 2018 #46 Share Posted July 2, 2018 I was able to nab a resident rate and rebook our September Serenade cruise to Bermuda right before final payment. Took about $400 off the total price which was nice!
