What's on your wish list for the new Carnival mega ship coming in 2020?

1. Viewing at the very front of the ship with a restaurant.

2. A deep Infinity pool on the aft with over the edge hot tubs and palm trees for enforced adults only.

3. Vista suites

4. Larger cabins that would sleep up to 10 people.

5. An Aquarium that is as tall as the atrium in the lobby with tropical fish.

6. A separate pool for kids and families only oppitsit of Serenity.

7. A total non smoking area in the casinos. Separated from the smoking with a clear glass wall waterfall.

8. Better shops that the everyday "Joe" can afford.

9. Different land excursions.

10. More visible security.

With so many requesting adult only pools and areas, why not simply sail Celebrity, Holland or Princess. Very few kids much of the time. Asking for pools and venues for adults only on "Carnival" is like asking Disney Land to do the same. I don't think people going on the family fun ships would be to thrilled with having so many spaces unavailble to them. Carnival already has the Havana Cabins which is only for adults and kids over 12.

If you didn't already know, Carnival has ordered two mega ships, 5,200 guest capacity, and 180,000 tons, set to be delivered in 2020. What would you like to see on it? Please do not come here to tell us how much you hate mega ships.

Here are some of mine:

1.) Upgraded pool - I would love to see a really nice pool like you would see at an upscale resort. Maybe even one with a grotto, or waterfall. The current pools are generally underwhelming.

2.) A "Central Park" - While I have not yet been on an Oasis class ship, I think it could be a nice addition for something similar on Carnival. I would love to see it topical themed. Maybe a tropical straw market with palm trees?

3.) More shopping - Don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for it to be a mall. Nor do I know what I would even want to see. However, Carnival has already talked about partnering with more companies for more shopping options. It might be a nice way for them to capture additional revenue without having to really "force" anything on anyone. I wouldn't be mad either with expanded apparel options.

I love mega ships. I would like to see more pools like on the oasis class ships. I feel like oasis class ships choice of pools leads to less crowding. I feel carnival doesn’t give the guests enough pool space. Some more pay to dine choices would be good too. Also bumper cars or something like that for the kids.

To me, it's not important enough to be pay hundreds of dollars more for more pool options. If I had a magic wand to ask for something I believe is reasonable for Carnival prices, I think tweaking the pools would be a nice addition.

Instead of new features, I hope the new ships have all of my favorite features from current ships to include:

1. Large atrium with glass elevators like the Dream class ships (and basically every class currently sailing except Vista).

2. Serenity pool like Sunshine.

3. Water slides like Sunshine.

4. Alchemy Bar.

5. Theaters/lounges like the Dream class ships.

6. Thalassotherapy pools like Dream class ships.

7. SkySox Sports Bar (I also wish they would add these to Dream class ships).

8. Red Frog Pub. I know Guys Pig & Anchor Brewhouse replaced this on the Horizon, but on the new larger ships, there should be room for both of these pubs.

9. Havana Bar.

10. All the specialty restaurants on Horizon.

It’s a pretty safe bet #1 will not happen. The deck plan for AIDAnova shows only a three deck atrium, and P&O UK has released a fly through of Iona’s atrium showing it is three decks. The one key difference between the Excellence-class and Vista-class atriums is that Excellence class will feature large windows three decks high on both the port and starboard sides of the atrium.

Skydome (P&O) and Four Elements (AIDA) have also been billed as entertainment venues, so it would not surprise me to see the same done with Carnival. Both venues include pools and would function as part of the Lido deck during the day.

Iona will feature some new-to-P&O dining and bar venues off the atrium, such as a wine bar and gastropub, so don’t be surprised if Carnival does the same.

I wouldn’t be surprised though if you wind up getting 8 or 9 out of 10. The theatre is the iffy one - AIDAnova as a “theatrium” instead of a traditional theatre, and their “Studio X” converts from a 500-seat TV studio to a night club not unlike Liquid Lounge. I haven’t seen anything on Iona yet.

As much as I like the big atrium, I'd agree. The jury is out, are people not choosing the Vista or Horizon due to the smaller atrium, or are the extra opportunities to utilize the space for other things the better bet? I don't see it returning.

I like a lot of the rest of the list. It's funny because it basically wants a bigger Dream class.

I would like to have:

Adults only swimming pools and hot tubs. I don't care to be in a hot tub full of snorkeling children and teenyboppers.

Bigger venue for comedy club - can't even get a seat where it is now.

More variety shows - seems like all the shows are mostly singing and dancing

Both Iona and AIDAnova will feature aerial shows in the enclosed pool area - I would expect the Carnival version to include those also.

I enjoy being able to go out and see the ocean from the walking area on the lower deck like the Breeze has. The new ships have done away with that and the only outside space is Lido and above.
The Vista class ships already have the open Promenade deck, like the Dream class. There are differences (no hot tubs on the sides, addition of outdoor seating for the various food venues, the Havana area) but you can still walk all the way around the outside of the ship on that deck, at least after 7pm when the Havana area opens to everyone.

I think Carnival also needs to get bigger in the premium game, similar to Haven and Yacht Club. They brought Havana previously, which seemed to be received well.

What do you think? Is Havana enough? Should it be replaced? Should Havana and something else co-exist? Should Havana expand?

Havana, is a stretch for Carnival conceptually. That said you raise interesting questions. Someone told us it far exceeded their expectations....
