AT&T Cruise plan

Has anyone used this. We are looking at the $50 plan, but is it better than the ships plan. The AT&T plan gets us unlimited texts and 50 mins of talk, which could keep us in touch at home in case of an emergency, but no social media.

We looked at it but for us imessage is good enough, don't need to talk so didn't go for it. We would buy internet anyways which makes imessage work so not worth the cost.

Thanks for your responses, after giving it some thought, I think we are going to just use ships WiFi. Seems like the better of the two.

If AT&T could offer unlimited LITE at sea, I would pay the $100.

We use the day pass plan ATT has - good pretty much in every port Carnival sails to. Is $10 for 24 hours while in port with unlimited phone calls back to U.S., unlimited texts and data runs off whatever plan you have at home. While on ship, phone goes into airplane mode and we use Carnival Hub to communicate to each other on ship if necessary. If I want to call home while on ship, it is $1.99 a minute from cabin. We keep the calls short and sweet. Economically this works best for us, as we don't use social media!
