Hi,

I'm helping organize a sailaway on several upcoming Star Princess cruises...which bar should we have the sailaway for best views, space, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

Karen

Some of the decision making needs to include the size of your group. Some of the SAs will have a few hundred CC members signed up.

That said, I enjoy the outrigger for sailaways as you usually have great views of the harbor and are protected from the wind somewhat. Also, some of the SA cruises leave port near sunset. If you are heading East, you may have a great sunset. We did in 2016 going out of Buenos Aires on the Star.

Unless you're in a really scenic harbour or want to be a part of the action, we always say the only place to really enjoy sailaway is on our balcony enjoying whatever view we have and raising a toast to a wonderful holiday!

Most popular outdoor locations are:

Horizon Terrace/Outrigger Bar, deck 12 aft.

Tradewinds Bar, deck 15 above the main pool. This is the best location for 360 degree views. There will most likely be live music and cruise staff activities on deck 14 below.

Indoors:

Skywalker's, bar may not be open, seating with views may be limited.

Don't think he wants to open the deck to 50 people

Thank you! Yes, we are! We have an excursion to see the penguins at Volunteer Point with Patrick Watts.

That has to be in our top three ever. Patrick's drivers are great. We had a lady who went through the war.

We had ours at the Tradewinds Bar on the Sun deck.
