FLcruisergrl Posted August 19, 2018 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2018 I booked a cruise for the last week of Dec 2019 in Jan 2018.
v3cruiser Posted August 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2018 6 months to 2 years out, average 1 year. . Besides onboard expenses, we like having everything paid off before we sail as well as having time to plan and we always have to figure in airfare as well. Doing Panama Canal but booked that one almost two years prior to sail date.

Crzy4my2 Posted August 19, 2018 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We have booked about 6 months out but we just booked one for July 2019..Here is rushing/wishing the year away! :)
Rare graphicguy Posted August 19, 2018 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Usually 90 days or less....mostly less than 90 days!
Two Wheels Only Posted August 19, 2018 #8 Share Posted August 19, 2018 It depends on what dates are released. On brand new ships, it can be more than two years. I'd book NCL Project Leonardo and MSC World Class if I could even though there isn't any real info on those unnamed ships.
aceparty Posted August 19, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Usually 90 days or less....mostly less than 90 days! This is how I was, but now with the cruise rewards and booking 6 months out to able to use 2 of them., I tend to book early.
FranMar16 Posted August 19, 2018 #10 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We have one booked for October 2019. That's the furthest out we've booked one so far. Never earlier than two months out yet.
TFLG Posted August 19, 2018 #11 Share Posted August 19, 2018 I typically book very early 1.5 to 2 years ahead or late 2-6 months. I normally have 2 on the books but I've had as many as 4 booked. Right now I have 2 booked. Sailing the Bliss in October and I'm looking right now for a spring 2020 cruise. On average we do 2 a year.
seadog18 Posted August 19, 2018 #12 Share Posted August 19, 2018 As we need a specific type of cabin we book as soon as the cabins are released. We will have already done our homework as to when and where and which ship.
Socalev Posted August 19, 2018 #13 Share Posted August 19, 2018 My first cruise was a CAS cruise booked 4 months out. But since then, I book further out and pay over time. I also liked receiving the (now non-existent) extra latitude point for booking 9 mos in advance. Booked Star Mar 2019 in May 2017. Got a great deal on a family suite and have never seen the cabin price lower than it was when I reserved.

rtkenmore Posted August 19, 2018 #15 Share Posted August 19, 2018 We used to do at least 9 months to take advantage of the extra Lattitudes point... We have one in January that was booked the week before the Lattitudes changes so it will be the last with the extra point. Our other booked cruise is Encore which we booked the day they went on sail over the phone for Thanksgiving next year. Have booked as short as 30 days on a last minut Fri-Mon out of Miami. MaryZ Posted August 19, 2018 #19 Share Posted August 19, 2018 anywhere from the day before to the day the schedule is released. We have cruises booked thru 2020 right now. We have booked a cruise while sitting on the sun deck of a different cruise line so when we get off the next day we just have to walk onto the new ship. Life is an adventure. Enjoy your travels. Planned to every detail or on a whim.:D

Oldgoat61 Posted August 19, 2018 #22 Share Posted August 19, 2018 I have booked 90 days out, and as far as a year and a half out. It depends on the itinerary, and when it opens up. In one case the ship was the case.
QueenOfZoom Posted August 19, 2018 #23 Share Posted August 19, 2018 It depends for us...if traveling together I need to make sure I have kids home to take care of the house and dogs. We usually book thru CAS, those are done soon after receiving the certificate. Cruised in May & July this year, have a solo booked for September, and traveling together on a 10 day in January. DominicAUS Posted August 19, 2018 #24 Share Posted August 19, 2018 Often I book 1 to 1.5 years out. Have Epic for November and Jade in late April. I’m sure I’ll buy cruise next vouchers too. I like to book further out, generally found it to be cheaper and gives me time to research and save.
YVRBassElectric Posted August 19, 2018 #25 Share Posted August 19, 2018 as little as 9 days, as much as 540 days in advance We had a special event cancel, so went on a cruise to replace the time we already arranged away from our businesses, 9 days before sailing, best deal $800 for Alaska OV & $1100 return for mini-suite.
