i played a very small amount in the slots last october. i got crazy 99 dollar offers around christmas. regrettably couldnt make it. i assure you will make it this year if i'm offered :)

but to this day there are discounted cruises when i sign into my account vs when i'm not signed in. so the 'discount' lives on even almost a year later for me. so you def gotta sign in when looking at pricing

When you sit at any table in the casino, they will ask for your cruise card and swipe it. If you sit at a machine, you must swipe your cruise card and set up an account to use the machine.

We've gotten casino deals before and when DH plays at the tables he has said they don't take his card to write anything down. He thinks it is when he cashes out.

We've gotten cruise deals in emails and in regular mail and was able to take advantage of a discounted cruise where we received players club cards for free drinks and canapés delivered to our room. Still can't figure out the system and how we can continue getting the perks!

Yes you can insert money, but you must put your card in and set up an account first. When you cash out it will only go back on your casino account on your card and you must go to the teller to clear your card and get the cash.

We play tables almost exclusively... they swipe your card to track your buy-in amounts and play time, and the supervisors make note of average bet. Between the timer and those notes, plus any slot play time and average bet, and a fancy algorithm, a player rating is created. Your play is tracked over 12 months or longer for that rating.

At different times, they offer different promotions to different players. My husband, who ONLY plays tables, often gets slot or craps tournament offers and free cabins. My sister, who ONLY plays slots, gets free-play. I play cards and dice, but at a lower average bet, and I get cabin discounts and free play.

We have at different times, gotten bounce-back offers while still onboard (usually on Carnival). One host told us that we had 'already' earned the bounce-back offer based on previous cruises, but that we needed to 'keep playing' to earn the free drink card. Sometimes, we get the drink card the first night, others mid-cruise, and sometimes, not at all. It's nuts.

Ultimately, in our experience, there is lots going on in the background that makes the rewards and perks rather unpredictable. Your mileage is sure to vary!

I was on the Pacific Princess last October for 14 days. A gentleman and I played Black Jack almost every night. He was going through a couple of thousand a night and on the last day of the cruise he told me he was down over 15K and he had received a letter from Princess offering him a free 7 day cruise. That night he won all his money back and went ahead a couple of thousand.

I am not a big bettor but received a letter in my mailbox offering a discount on a future cruise.

From the points accumulated on your card or Medallion. They are never the same for the next cruise. Don’t ask how many you need for something since most of the workers don’t know. The casinos are run by independent corporation. On an upcoming cruise I received a letter to email or call a certain number and let them know when my next cruise was coming. I spent very little And I got a email back telling me to pick up $300 at the casino cage on the first night of the cruise. I have picked up as much is $700 this way. Others that I know have been offered exactly nothing and others have been offered free cruises and the cash. I am sure there is a system but it is unknown and unknowable

They also write down the folio number of those that play the tables. That's how my DH gets those offers once in awhile and it doesn't take a lot of spending at all.

Definitley doesn't take much. Entered and played in one slot tournament and started getting some incredible offers. That is the only time I played in the casino.

I should have added... If you are booked on a non-casino rate (even if you are using a different promotion) send an email to casino@princess.com, and ask what benefits are available.

List your VFIP/Captains Circle number, along with your cruise info (ship, date, booking number).

I've gotten a variety of bonus cash or free-play 'gifts'. Free-play in the form of silly yellow tokens to place as bets at the table, other times actual cash.

On a trip in the Med this summer, my husband and I had free cabins from two different casinos at home. We booked interior cabins side by side, and we each took a guest and switched around on board.

MY cabin received champagne and chocolates on day 1, fancy appetizers both formal nights, free-drink-in-casino cards on players club lanyards, and Princess beach towels.

HIS cabin got... nothing. He is a much bigger player at home and on board.

We never know what to expect!
