premium wi-fi plan, how bad is it?

We had the social plan when we were on the Fascination a couple of years ago.  This time in Alaska i'm just going to check in on port days.   It's really a waste of money IMHO, especially since you have to utilize your VPN.

We've had the premium on Magic, Breeze and Vista... it was okay on Magic (5 yrs ago) but not perfect... on Breeze & Vista it was very good. The only issue we had was my hubby couldn't log into a Facebook game he plays on Vista (something was definitely blocking it, but he could never figure out what) but that wasn't the end of the world, and we were able to use it for everything else with little or no delays.

The good part was, we were able to tell our 10 YO grandson that it was TOO SLOW to play Fortnite! (not sure that's true, but it made a good excuse!). As a result we actually saw him occasionally, and he played in the pools and slides a lot more than he might have!

I know it’s an upgraded WiFi system but on our sunrise cruise the WiFi was outstanding.

Also, on your ship you might try using one of their computers they have in the Internet cafe or whatever they call it/wherever they have them. You can log in with your own account.

We were at the Carnival Dream in March 2019 on the "Western Caribbean Cruise". We bought the Premium Wi-Fi Plan before the cruise and were disappointed. The internet connection is very slow and annoying. It's enough to check mails or send WhatsApp messages. Everything else takes a lot of time and is a pain in the 🤬.

For this reason we made a video on a day at sea, where we did a "speed test". In the video we show how long it really takes to load a page. The bad thing was that even the Carnival website was extremely long before it was loaded.

We can't recommend it or we wouldn't buy it again. But this is our opinion and maybe the internet connection on other Carnival ships is better?!? Maybe our video will help you with the decision.

all of this is incorrect, I always use a VPN as I bet football. We always use WiFi calling as long as there is signal. We were refunded our full fair on the conquest as the internet was pathetic
