BNBR Posted September 10, 2018 #26 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Can't make everyone happy, that's for sure. I thought Fine Line was way better than Oasis of Dreams. I don't go to a "stage show" expecting to see an Olympic Diving competition. I want to be entertained by music, acrobatics, diving, and want to see a work of art, for lack of a better term. Fine Line delivered. Great music and production.
cruisinfanatic Posted September 10, 2018 #27 Share Posted September 10, 2018 Just back from Harmony - a wonderful cruise in many ways. Some of the entertainment, however, was disappointing. One such show, held in the Aqua Theatre was "The Fine Line." When I go to see a show in the Aqua Theatre, I expect to see springboard diving, high diving and synchronized swimming. What a disappointment! There was no springboard diving, and the limited high diving and synchronized swimming was replaced by a third rate stage performance featuring a scary character, yelling, a circus act, much splashing of water, and more splashing of water. Seriously, was does a freaky guy twirling a cape over his head for ten minutes have to do with swimming and water? Answer - Nothing. This was a start to a show that ended with more splashing of water. What a disappointment! I will say, the performers had a second show later in the week that was what I expected and brought out their real talents, but this was hardly promoted compared to "The Not-So-Fine Line" That is a very highly rated show on Harmony and most people that see it don't agree with you. I don't expect most people to agree with me. That wasn't the reason for posting. I was simply pointing out why I was personally disappointed! Poplin Posted September 10, 2018 #30 Share Posted September 10, 2018 As always, everyone has an opinion.. but lets think about this twirling guy and ask if YOU could spin like that for more than 10 minutes and not throw up your dinner on yourself - NO... So I will say the guy is talented whether you like him or not!! Also - something else to consider... RCI has some of the best entertainment on their ships - Please tell me where else on a cruise can you find such great talent diving into a pool, all while at sea? I've been on Oasis, Allure and Harmony - thought all Aqua Theater shows were superb and have to hand it to the talent onboard for keeping us entertained! I guess if you don't want to see talent on a high wire above your head while you're at sea, you could always go make a donation to the casino!! I totally agree with you. I thoroughly enjoy all the shows. Sent from my SM-G935V using Forums mobile app

robntawn Posted September 11, 2018 #33 Share Posted September 11, 2018 It’s funny how subjective things are. I thought The Fine Line was one of the best shows I’ve seen, on par with some Vegas Cirque shows. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

JaimeCruiser Posted November 16, 2022 #35 Share Posted November 16, 2022 Currently midway through the 8 night Southern Caribbean Harmony of the Seas cruise. 1877 A Journey in Time was exquisitely beautiful! ”The Fine Line” was disappointing. I liked parts of it though, like about midway through, the musical score reminiscent of Divergent’s dauntless combined with extremely energetic acrobatics. However, the splashing of water and use of flashlights were monotonously redundant and low cost cheap props not worthy of Royal Caribbean. The twirling man in the dress showed incredible balance! The two women flying through the air in an intimate embrace made me think, “get a room!” The upside down leg dance, the use of chairs seemed uncoordinated to me. The flying ballerina was impressive in graceful flight and giving the impression of walking on air. Her reaching down to pull people out of the water gave me the image of helping one to be free of the drowning effect of addiction. The limited number of dives and preponderance of angry splashing and splatting of water fountains was just weird and a let down in comparison to a previous water show I had seen on the Oasis which was amazing and inspiring. Overall, “The Fine Line” was not worth going to see. On an earlier cruise, CATS was fantastic! That show made me LOVE RC. After seeing “The Fine Line”, for the first time ever since several cruises with Royal Caribbean, the phrase “loyal to Royal” began to weaken in me.
