Marie50 Posted September 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2018 We will be taking our first Oceania cruise in December. Can someone please tell me what a usual day onboard would be like as far as activities i.e. Trivia, lectures, demonstrations? Thank you
Rare ORV Posted September 18, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Cooking classes (fee), Trivia, art class, baggo, ping pong, needlepoint, putt putt, Spa, fee & free activities, gym, drink & wine tastings(fee) lectures, sometimes afternoon movies, bingo(fee), afternoon tea, casino, drinking, listening to string quartet, or just lazing around reading a book or visiting. I'm sure someone will mention stuff I forgot.
Rare Noxequifans Posted September 18, 2018 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Each evening a copy the the ship’s newsletter Currents is distributed indicating the next day’s activities. Also the Cruise Director is on TV each day with reminders of the activities.
Rare pinotlover Posted September 18, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2018 Specifics please. Is your question in reference to sea days or days in port? No one size fits all answer to your unspecific question. Answers will vary dramatically accordingly.
Rare LHT28 Posted September 18, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2018 someone posted some PDF scans of the Currents from last year in this thread https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=52203351&highlight=currents#post52203351 It gives you some idea of what goes on

Don't forget the small netted tennis/paddle ball court, croquet field, shuffleboard and a netted golf driving range if you are into those outdoor sports as well. Mura Posted September 18, 2018 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2018 In addition, it varies from cruise to cruise. By that I mean, let's say there are lecturers. (There always are -- well, not on port intensive cruises -- but there will be more on a transoceanic than a cruise with few or no ports of call. Topics will vary, often depending on the itinerary. When we did a north atlantic TA a few years ago one lecturer specialized in marine life, pointing out whales to be seen, etc. When we did our first Oceania cruise in 2004 on a Panama Canal-Caribbean itinerary there was a lecturer who specialized in spanish exploration of the Americas. There is always trivia ... on Riviera there are always cooking classes and the handicraft classes. (And those change too, depending on who has been hired to lead the classes.) Etc.! BigNance Posted October 28, 2018 #10 Share Posted October 28, 2018 There is today’s Currents. I’m probably repeating, but there is also ping pong, miniature golf, paddle tennis, a golf driving cage, and there were also a couple of lectures on upcoming ports. We missed the lectures. I think we were comparing Martini preparations😁 Or lay by the pool or sit in the library and read a book!
golfguyhhi Posted October 29, 2018 #11 Share Posted October 29, 2018 BigNance, If you get a chance, would you ask Cruise Director Corey when he is leaving the Riviera? We've sailed with him before and will be boarding 11/27 and would like to see him again. Thanks!!!!!
