Hello fellow followers. Sorry for the lack of updates but yall know the embarkation day drill. Will be updating later this evening after dinner.

 

This ship is massive but it feels small. Royal did a good job of creating separate but equal spaces.

 

Well we are in the muster drill now so gotta go.

Day 2 Part 2.

 

So as you already know my day started at 3:45 AM as I sat on the balcony waiting for the Conquest to port. For us as a family our morning started around 8. We ordered some room service and ate al fresco on the balcony.

 

 

We then leisurely packed our belongings and exited stage left promptly at check out time.

 

My initial plan was to leave at 10 sharp but I have long since learned that when plans change just roll with it.

 

I purposely waited until we were walking out the door to order the Uber. App said 12 min wait time. This was plenty time to check out and be waiting at the curb.

 

Well as soon as the app registered it proceed to say driver would be there in 2 minutes. Here's the mad dash AGAIN!!! Is this Groundhog Day? Or maybe Deja Vu? I don't know but all I'm thinking is now I gotta rush with this luggage yet again.

Once we actually linked up with the Uber driver things went smoothly. Now the other drivers in the Fort I can't vouch for. We saw one car stopped in the center lane of the highway, two cars make left turns from the right lane, and 2 cars hold up traffic making what I could only think were illegal lefts.

If you think that is bad driving you should see it on a week day during rush hour in the rain. No telling what you would have seen had the ride from the airport to the hotel been more than just a few minutes.

Yes it is. I was there in April and did not notice any abnormal custom's procedures.

Sure to tell the driver calls while we are on the elevator. We get downstairs and the lobby is a mad house. Standing room only. I head out to meet the driver and drop off luggage. Then i proceed to check out. Thank goodness for the Honors line.

 

I get in the car and attempt to strike up a convo with who shall now be known as Mr. No Personality. I understand you don't wanna talk but darn. You are in an occupation where you will deal with many folks on a daily basis. You could at least answer a question about the port for which you are taking me to. Buddy acted like I asked for his SSN.

 

Overall it felt like he was there to cash a check. Call me Petty Pattie but I don't wanna feel like a commodity. Ok rant over.

That 10 minute drive could not go fast enough. As we are pulling around we see droves of people being herded into the floating abyss.

 

 

Now it's our turn!

 

I did the pre check-in for expedited boarding but there was so much chaos I did not know which way was up. Therefore I ended up in general population. Oh The Horror - well at least I thought. There were so many lines and workers that we were moving like a full fledged assembly line. They had it down pack.

Last stop before we become property of the cruise line

 

While we were checking in the lady said the running joke is that people are waiting longer in the expedited line than general boarding.

 

Now we knew the ship was large but the scale did not hit us fully until we were headed up the gangway. We switchbacked so many times I lost count. By the time we hit the ship mama was looking for the oxygen station. No matter because WE'RE ONBOARD!!!!!!!!!
