Owners Suite Fascination Ecstacy etc?

Received an email with upsell offer to the Owners Suite on Ecstacy. Did not specify the $ cost.

Did a quick bit of research and not sure worth it at any price given what seems like extreme noise from Lido pool area and jogging track. Our cabin is an aft balcony - peaceful aft view v crappy obstructed balcony and lido area noise.

Quite frankly I was relieved when I reached the upsell person that it was no longer available. Probably would have taken it if a really good deal and then have been miserable. (I hate loud music, never hang out at Lido pool.)

Just curious though to hear other experiences, particularly as to the chief complaints I read about: noise from lido pool, noise from jogging track, and difficulty getting service fro cabin attendant since it is a one off location.

TIA!

DH and I received an offer for one of the two penthouses on the Imagination a few Christmases ago and we jumped on it. Loved it! Well worth the $1,200 extra. Had booked a Junior Suite. Over 800 square feet with separate bedroom, huge bathroom and closet, living room, dining area, bar, and 100 square foot deck. One of the reasons we took it was because my DB and SIL were also on the cruise and it was nice to get together in a large space for cocktails and room service lunches. When we checked in at the terminal, we were escorted onto the ship and picked up our S&S cards at Guest Services and then escorted to the penthouse. When inside the cabin, we did not hear any noise from the Lido Deck pool area at all. Would definitely do it again if offered.

My friends took the upsell on Ecstasy over Labor Day 2017. I was in a 1A. :D

Cabin itself was beautiful. They complained to the Service Desk multiple times about the noise from Lido. Seriously, does the DJ need the music so loud that the glasses on the shelves in the bathroom rattle? Absolutely nothing was done about it. They were told that they had been warned it could be noisy.

They had excellent service from their cabin steward. She was in and out often and kept the cabin in great condition.

I just never, ever spend that sort of money for a Fantasy-class ship (and I love that class; sailing soon for another 5 nights, which will give me 63 on those ships).

For the same amount, you could book a suite on a really nice ship. People considering this should think about that. Of course, people don't get these offers until after final payment, so you can't cancel and book elsewhere, but if I had the disposable income for an owner's suite, I'd be sailing a more upscale line anyway!

Love to hear that! Thanks! We splurged for my 50th Birthday coming up and are in PH1 on Ecstasy next month! Going with 24 girls ( in other cabins) so I am excited to have this cabin to add to the week-end memories. Noise doesn't bother me so not concerned about that! Let the party begin! ;)

So is it the room or the money?

We have stayed in the Owners suite on the Ecstasy before the makeover of the rooms. The rooms themselves are spectacular, I cannot remember noise from lido, but do remember chairs above being set up early.

We just got back from a cruise in PH1 on the Fascination. The rooms have been updated from some of the other pics that I have seen. We loved everything about the suite. Noise from the Lido deck / pool can be loud, but it didn't bother us. If you go to bed before 11:00 PM, you may have to deal with some noise. We did hear some joggers in the early morning, but again it wasn't bad.

As for the comment about the large "unusable" balcony, that wasn't the case for us. There is only one corner of the balcony that can be viewed. There is a good portion of the balcony that is private and cannot be viewed by others.

If the wife and I go on another cruise without the kids, I would take this room again, without hesitation.
