Infinity, port side, deck 9 AquaClass, cigarette smoke?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

We are booked with a deck 9 port side, mid-ship AquaClass balcony cabin. We now believe that there is a designated smoking section on the port side of deck 10 poolside. Is the smell of cigarettes noticeable on the deck 9 balconies? Does anyone have recent experience? We are NOT judging smokers - we just don't find the smell pleasant. Thank you!

Port is the left side of the ship when facing forward and starboard is the right side of the ship when facing forward. 9110 is on the right, or starboard, side of the ship.

Here is the ship tab for Constellation from the Celebrity website. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the deck plans. Go to deck nine and you will see 9110 - 5 staterooms behind the center hump / elevator lobby on the right side of the deck plan.

We are on the Constelation room 9110 is that port or starboard. How can you tell?

Almost always on Celebrity, rooms on the Port Side have odd numbers and rooms on the Starboard Side have even numbers. Therefore, 9110 is on the Starboard Side because it has an even number. However, it probably does not matter very much if you have an aft room like 9110 that is directly under the Oceanview Cafe since I do not think that they allow smoking on either side of the cafe.

99% of the time it's true that smoking is port side. BUT if the ship is bunkering, if they are doing repairs to that area, or if there are high winds, they may move the smoking to the starboard side temporarily. So it's not a guarantee that the starboard side will never have smokers.

That is true, but it is never allowed (at least in our experience) in any area of the Oceanview Cafe as questioned by actuarian. :)

Thank you for your replies. At this point (leaving 10/24) there are no other AquaClass cabins available. We need AquaClass, because we became hooked on Blu restaurant on the Constellation! We will make the best of the situation. If anyone has been in the deck 9 mid-ship balcony cabins, I would like to hear if you smelled smoke. Thank you.

You will NOT smell smoke on your balcony. You are on the starboard side of the ship. The smoking area is Deck 10 port side. You are nowhere near any smoking area.

We have cruised in 9106/9108/9110 on various M class ships. They are the best A2 cabins on the ship....they are quiet (no noise from above), no smoke in the air and convenient to the elevators.

There is nothing to "make the best of the situation". You have one of the best A2 cabins.

Enjoy your cruise and stop worrying about your cabin.
